About me and my therapy practice
With over 20 years experience working as a Therapist, my aim is to provide a safe, empathic and non-judgmental environment to work in, with the emphasis on the importance of the Therapist/Client relationship and to promote your desire for change. We will explore and work together, towards promoting a deeper understanding of the challenges and issues you may be facing at the moment; to encourage a deeper sense of self and feelings of self-empowerment and confidence; and to help develop your sense of creativity. I can offer online appointments to suit your availablity
I qualified as a Psychodynamic Therapist in 2002 and have worked in both the private and charity sectors at the Rock Clinic in Brighton, Youth Advice Centre (YAC), and as a Student Councillor at Sussex University for a number of years.
Practice description
I am especially interested In how childhood trauma influences our adult experiences and relationships and work to further a better understanding of our subconscious processes and the links between childhood trauma and current difficulties.
I am also interested in creative arts and have worked as a professional musician for many years so I have a deep understanding of and work with people facing the pressures of public facing prerformance.
For over twenty years I have experience of working in residential drug and alcohol treatment centres and have experience working with people who face substance misuse, alcohol dependency and multiple addiction issues. Additional being defined as “anything that gives you temporary relief and temporary pleasure, but in the long term causes harm and has negative consequences that cannot easily be given up despite those negative consequences” Gabor Mate.
Alongside of these areas of expertise I have significant experience of working with those who need support with general anxiety disorders, depression, bereavement and relationship difficulties.
