A lot of people suffer in silence with their mental health either because of the stigma that is attached to mental health or for other reasons like feeling shame or guilt or thinking they have failed for not being strong. The truth is, being strong is honoring and nurturing our vulnerability. Being strong is respecting and looking after out mental health on a daily basis.

Pysco education is a big part of what I do with clients, educating them in how to work towards healing past trauma, skills in managing emotions, and strategies to regulate emotions.

I currently have availability to take on additional clients and I am based in rugby. I can also deliver counselling online.

It is one thing to survive in life, I work with people to support them on their journey to finding techniques and coping mechanisms to strive in life.

About me and my therapy practice

Over the last 20 years, I have counselled young people and adults in various settings. I have worked in schools, training centers, careers offices, relate in Rugby and Leicester, youth clubs, and prisons.

I have my own private counselling practice.

I can also deliver counselling online. I am happy to have a short telephone consultation if anyone wishes to refer clients to me or to discuss any aspects of counselling further.

Practice description

Therapy offers the space to gently explore your internal world - your thoughts, emotions and beliefs - alongside the external experiences and relationships that have influenced your journey. It can also create room for the existential questions that naturally arise throughout life; questions of identity, purpose, meaning and what it truly means to live in a way that feels authentic to you. There are no expectations and no right or wrong answers, only an opportunity to understand yourself more deeply and move forward with greater clarity, compassion and confidence.

My first session

The first session is an orientation into expectations of what counselling might look like and how the client can get the full benefit  out of a session. Looking at what aproach works well for you as a client. It is also an opportunity to get a sense of each other and can we work well together.  There is also a brief assessment completed in session 1.

We would then look toward creating a focused goal on what the client would like to acheive in therapy.
