About me and my therapy practice
Hi I'm Sue, an Integrative counsellor working with individual adults aged 20 and above based near Farnborough, Aldershot, Guildford and Farnham. I offer in-person therapy from a comfortable therapy room in Farnborough. I also offer online therapy.
Have you lost direction and feeling you no longer enjoy the things you used to love; not being very kind to yourself and close to burnout?
Are you dealing with anxiety and stress, feeling full of uncertainty and looking for a new perspective that will allow for change?
Reeling from a loss and struggling to deal with grief after a bereavement?
Together we can develop your ability to view yourself with curiosity and not self-criticism. Learning to see yourself in this way helps to increase self-compassion and improve the relationship you have with yourself and others.
I offer a respectful and reflective space where I will listen with focus and empathy as you share your story. Through having this consistent support you can be given tools to help you get on top of difficulties. I tailor my approach to bring the greatest benefit to you. There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to therapy, as the best therapy for you will always be as unique as you.
Let's find the right questions for you, leading to answers that connect to the forgotten strength already inside yourself.
I understand how vulnerable it can feel to reach out and ask for help, and sometimes meeting our emotions is hard enough, let alone having to talk about them too! I have been lucky enough to have had therapy in my early 30's after struggling with my own losses and great personal change and the positive life changing effects I experienced showed me it was worth finding the courage to take that first step.
Timing is everything in therapy; if you are ready to make a change I offer a free 30-minute introductory chat to see if I am the right counsellor for you.
Practice description
Our therapy space is your time to meet regularly with a counsellor trained in listening with care and empathy to support the exploration of emotions that can hold you ‘hostage’ if left unexpressed; Experience has taught me that personal exploration is not something to be rushed. You are not broken and so I listen without judgement or expectation, I am here to witness and hold the space for you. My training has taught me to detects patterns of behaviour by being able to step back and look at the whole of the content you bring whilst gently challenging you to find your own growing edge.
We can work together to:
• Explore your life experiences, and how they might have affected how you relate to the people in your life. I support you by sharing some psychoeducation around how our early attachments provide us with relational templates for how we relate to others in our lives.
• Discover how ways of being in the past might no longer be serving you; find new ways you can support yourself that are healthier ways to cope.
• Look at the meaning in your life and what choices you can make to bring you to live closer in line with your values. Explore what you beliefs truly are and discover where they came from.
• What might be keeping you 'stuck', and find new perspectives that will allow for change. I support you by sharing some Psychoeducation around your body and how it relates to stress and through this knowledge help you befriend your nervous system and know how to be able to get in tune with what your body needs to become more resilient to the stresses of our modern times.
