About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Jamie.

Do you feel isolated, rejected, hurt, or sad? Are you from a marginalised community or feel that you don’t fit in? Counselling can help by providing a safe and calm space to talk, and I will support you as you explore the thoughts and emotions that feel challenging.

As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand what it’s like to feel different from ‘normal’. I work with clients empathetically and non-judgmentally, believing that our differences are what make us unique.

I'm passionate about helping people heal from childhood trauma, increase self-confidence, and strengthen the relationships they have with themselves and others. I work well with people who aim to be kinder to themselves, are curious about healthier boundaries, and are open to therapeutic change.

My focus is on supporting members from marginalised communities, building self-worth through self-compassion, and empowering you to feel less fear around uncomfortable feelings.

Having someone next to you on your healing journey is so important, helping you feel less isolated and alone. I deeply care about the well-being of everyone I work with. I have met people from all walks of life, and everyone is welcome.

As an integrative therapist, I believe there isn't just one single approach that fits every person or situation. Instead, I consider you as a unique individual, drawing on different therapeutic elements to support your personal exploration and growth.

I work with clients online across the UK and face-to-face in Manchester City Centre. If you’d like to discuss how counselling could help, I offer a free 15-minute introductory conversation where we can discuss what brings you to therapy and see if we are a good fit.

Practice description

How does it work?

When you get in touch via email, we will arrange a complimentary 15-minute conversation to learn more about the support you are looking for and whether I am the right person for you. From there, we can schedule a convenient time for your initial assessment.

After our first session, you can decide whether you would like to continue. There is no pressure or obligation. It is essential that you feel completely comfortable with your decision to work together.

During the initial session, we will explore what has brought you to therapy in more detail, answer any questions you have, and discuss any goals you might like to work towards. By the end, you will have a genuine feel for how I work and whether it feels like the right fit for you.

Areas I support

I work with individual adults facing a variety of challenges, including:

  • Trauma & Abuse: Childhood emotional or physical trauma, narcissistic abuse, dysfunctional family dynamics, bullying, and inner child work.
  • Well-being & Mental Health: Anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, chronic guilt, shame, and self-criticism.
  • Identity & Relationships: LGBTQ+ therapy, men’s issues, relationship difficulties, and dealing with discrimination or stigma.
