About me and my therapy practice
I provide professional counselling and therapeutic support in a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space. My approach is grounded in humanistic and person-centred principles, which means I work collaboratively with you to understand your experiences, thoughts, and feelings, and help you explore what matters most to you.
I integrate practical tools and insights from cognitive-behavioural and other evidence-informed approaches where appropriate, so our work is tailored to your needs and goals. I focus on helping you develop clarity, self-understanding, and emotional resilience, supporting you to make meaningful choices and navigate challenges in your life.
In sessions, I offer a balance of reflection, exploration, and practical guidance. We may explore patterns in thoughts, behaviours, and relationships, consider how your past experiences influence your present, and work on strategies to cope with stress, anxiety, low mood, or other challenges. I aim to create a supportive environment where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered.
I work with adults facing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress, trauma, and challenges with self-esteem or relationships. Sessions are flexible, reflective, and tailored to your needs, whether face-to-face in Bridgnorth, online, or by telephone.
My goal is to support you in reconnecting with yourself, finding perspective, and building practical and emotional tools that help you live in line with your values, while maintaining your own well-being. Together, we will create a space where insight leads to action, and change feels manageable and sustainable.
Practice description
I offer counselling and therapeutic support in a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space. My approach is grounded in humanistic and person-centred principles, which means we work collaboratively to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that helps you understand yourself better and make meaningful changes in your life.
I integrate practical, evidence-informed approaches, including cognitive-behavioural techniques, when appropriate, to support you in developing strategies for coping with stress, anxiety, low mood, or challenging life situations. Sessions are tailored to your needs, balancing reflection, exploration, and practical guidance.
In our work together, we may explore patterns in thoughts, behaviours, and relationships, consider how past experiences influence the present, and develop tools to increase emotional resilience, self-understanding, and clarity in decision-making. My goal is to help you reconnect with yourself, navigate life’s challenges, and build practical and emotional skills that support your well-being.
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, and low self-esteem. Sessions are offered face-to-face in Bridgnorth, as well as online or by telephone for flexibility.
Whether you’re seeking short-term support to work through a specific challenge or longer-term guidance to explore deeper patterns and growth, I aim to provide a supportive and compassionate environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to take meaningful steps forward.
My first session
Your first session with me is an opportunity to get to know each other, discuss your goals, and establish a safe, supportive space for your work. In this session, we focus on understanding your current situation, what has brought you to counselling, and what you hope to achieve from our sessions together. This helps me tailor my approach to your needs and ensures we can work collaboratively and effectively.
There is no formal assessment required, though I may ask a few questions about your background, previous support, and current challenges to better understand your context. This session also gives us a chance to clarify how counselling will work, including frequency of sessions, practical arrangements, and any questions you might have about the process.
The first session lasts 50 minutes and is charged at the standard rate of £55. My approach is relational, humanistic, and flexible, combining reflection, discussion, and practical guidance where helpful. The session is designed to help you feel heard, understood, and supported, and to give you a sense of what ongoing work together will be like.
This session is not about solving everything immediately, but about creating a foundation for a safe, collaborative, and productive therapeutic relationship. By the end of the first session, you will have a clear understanding of how counselling with me works and a sense of the reflective, supportive space we will build together to explore challenges, clarify thinking, and develop practical tools for change.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi there, thank you for stopping by, I’m Ben and this is me in words, please feel free to get in touch to have a chat about what you are looking for.
I really like to keep things as simple as I can, you talk and I will listen intently to what you tell me. We will work to peel back the layers of your emotions, feelings, and thoughts that might be troubling you. I understand how scary that might seem but I will do my absolute best to make it a revealing and hopefully insightful experience for you.
My hope for you is that you find relief from whatever might be troubling you. For some clients, this might happen in just a small number of sessions, for other clients it might take more. I have no minimum or maximum for our time together. I’ll work with you for as long as you want too.
As I’ve mentioned before, contemplating therapy or considering contacting a therapist can seem almost too intimidating to even ponder. So at this point, don’t consider me a therapist, instead just consider me a regular person who wants to listen to whatever it is you want to say.

Hi, thank you for stopping by my bio. I’m Ben
I absolutely believe that one of the bravest things you can do, is to better understand you and your own story. You completely deserve to live the life you want to live.
I will treat you with care, compassion, and without judgement regardless of whatever it might be that is going on in your life. I promise you that I will meet you at a human level, interacting with you as a real person and not an expert.

There will also be some admin to go through as well but not too much. It is then totally up to you if you wish to book further sessions with me or not
I’m not going to diagnose you or judge you for anything you tell me. You might not even want to tell me in this session what is going on for you that is fine too. It is a completely no commitment meeting. Your session, your way.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer reflective, relational supervision to therapists at all stages of their practice, providing a space to think, process, and grow professionally. My approach is grounded in humanistic principles, with a strong emphasis on emotional literacy, ethical practice, and the therapist’s inner stance. I work from the belief that supervision is not just about client work, but about the development of the therapist personally, professionally, and relationally.
In sessions, I aim to create a collaborative, safe, and non-judgemental environment where supervisees can explore both their clinical decisions and their own reactions in depth. I draw on a broad, integrative perspective, helping supervisees to navigate complexity, manage countertransference, and maintain clarity and presence with clients. This includes attention to relational patterns, ethical dilemmas, and the lived experience of the therapist within their practice.
I adapt my supervision, balancing structured reflection with exploration of real-time challenges, fostering self-awareness, confidence, and professional integrity. While grounded in humanistic and person-centred principles, I also integrate practical, evidence-informed tools where appropriate, including insights from CBT approaches and systemic thinking.
I am particularly interested in supporting therapists to work with clients experiencing trauma, attachment difficulties and life transitions, as well as those managing high workloads, burnout, or professional isolation. Supervision with me is collaborative, thought provoking, and tailored to the developmental needs of each practitioner, helping them to sustain a robust, ethically minded, and relationally attuned practice.
I offer supervision online, by telephone, or f2f providing flexibility while maintaining a grounded approach. My goal is to support therapists to feel competent, supported, and resourcedso they can bring their best selves to their work while maintaining personal and professional wellbeing
