About me and my therapy practice

Movement Psychotherapist: Helping you move beyond emotional eating, body disconnection and repeated patterns.

Many people come to therapy feeling stuck in cycles of emotional eating, body shame or disconnection from their bodies. They may have tried many diets or programmes over the years, yet still feel frustrated, exhausted or misunderstood.

I offer a compassionate, grounded and reflective space to explore what is happening beneath these patterns.

I am a Movement Psychotherapist and Holistic Health Coach with over 40 years’ experience in health, fitness and wellbeing, alongside more than a decade working within the NHS supporting people living with obesity and long-term health conditions. My work is informed by evidence-based approaches including CBT, alongside a strong focus on body awareness and emotional processing.

My approach integrates talking therapy with body awareness, recognising that our experiences, emotions and coping strategies are often held within the body as well as the mind.

I work particularly well with individuals who feel they have tried many approaches to their weight, health or emotional wellbeing, yet still feel stuck. You may feel disconnected from your body, caught in cycles of emotional eating, or aware that something deeper is driving your patterns but unsure how to access or change it.

My focus is not on quick fixes, but on supporting meaningful, lasting change. I have specialist experience supporting individuals navigating weight, health and emotional wellbeing.

Practice description

My work is integrative, relational and mind-body focused.

Sessions offer a space where you can slow down, reflect and begin to understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Alongside talking, I may gently invite awareness of bodily sensations, movement or emotional responses, depending on what feels appropriate and comfortable for you.

There is no pressure to perform, achieve or fix anything in our sessions. Instead, we work collaboratively with curiosity and compassion, supporting you to reconnect with yourself in a more grounded and sustainable way.

This approach can be particularly helpful if you feel disconnected from your body, struggle with emotional eating, or find yourself repeating patterns that no longer serve you.

Alongside exploration and reflection, I also work in a practical and collaborative way, supporting you to develop realistic and compassionate approaches that you can integrate into your everyday life. We work at a pace that feels safe and respectful of your experience.

I offer a free 20-minute discovery call, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and decide whether this way of working feels right for you.

If you choose to go ahead, I will ask you to complete a short questionnaire before our first session. This helps me to understand your current situation and ensures we can use our time together in a focused and supportive way.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet online, explore what has brought you to therapy, and begin to understand what you would like support with.

We will move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you, and you are always in control of what you choose to share.

I may ask some gentle questions about your current situation, your history, and what you are hoping to gain from therapy. This also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions and get a sense of whether this way of working feels right for you.

There is no obligation to continue beyond the first session. It is important that you feel comfortable and supported in the therapeutic relationship.
