About me and my therapy practice
Anxiety can quietly begin to take over your life. That unsettled feeling in your stomach, the constant overthinking and the sense of always being on edge can make even ordinary days feel harder than they need to be. You might find it difficult to switch off, trust your own decisions or enjoy moments that used to come naturally.
Perhaps you replay conversations long after they've happened, worry about saying the wrong thing, struggle to set boundaries or constantly put other people's needs before your own. Maybe you feel emotionally exhausted from trying to hold everything together whilst convincing everyone around you that you're coping.
If this sounds familiar, you're not alone.
I specialise in supporting adults experiencing anxiety, helping them understand not only what they're feeling, but why. Together, we'll explore the deeper patterns that may be keeping anxiety going, so you can begin to break free from cycles of overthinking, self-doubt and emotional overwhelm.
Having experienced anxiety myself, I know how consuming it can feel. I also know that lasting change isn't about simply getting rid of anxious thoughts; it's about building trust in yourself, understanding your nervous system and feeling safer within yourself again.
What I Can Help With
I work with adults experiencing a range of anxiety-related difficulties, including:
- Generalised anxiety and constant worrying
- Fear of anxiety, panic attacks or losing control
- Overthinking and "what if" spirals
- Social anxiety and fear of being judged
- Relationship anxiety and fear of rejection
- People pleasing and difficulty setting healthy boundaries
- Low self-esteem, self-doubt and lack of self-trust
- Reassurance seeking and constantly second-guessing yourself
- Emotional overwhelm and burnout
- Avoiding people, places or situations because of anxiety
- Feeling disconnected from yourself or unable to enjoy life fully
Practice description
I offer a calm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can show up exactly as you are, without pressure to have everything figured out.
My approach is integrative and person-centred, meaning therapy is tailored to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. I work collaboratively, helping you feel understood whilst gently supporting you to make meaningful and lasting change.
Together we may explore:
- The deeper patterns that may be sitting underneath your anxiety, including past experiences, relationships and the ways you've learned to protect yourself.
- Understanding how anxiety works so it begins to feel less frightening and overwhelming.
- Why you may find yourself overthinking, people pleasing, seeking reassurance or struggling to trust yourself.
- Practical ways to regulate your nervous system and feel calmer in everyday life.
- Building healthier boundaries, greater self-compassion and more confidence in yourself.
I believe anxiety is often trying to communicate something important rather than simply being something to 'get rid of'. By understanding those patterns with curiosity and compassion, therapy can help you move beyond simply managing anxiety and towards feeling safer, more connected and more able to live the life you want.
Next Steps
I offer in-person counselling from my quiet, comfortable (air-conditioned in summer and warm in winter) and cosy garden therapy room in Eagle Farm South, Milton Keynes, with free parking available. I also provide online sessions via Zoom for adults aged 18 and over across the UK.
Sessions are £80.
If you're considering counselling, you're welcome to book a free 15-minute introductory call.
From there if we decide to move forward, we'll arrange an initial consultation where we can explore your experiences in more depth and begin planning how therapy can support you.
If you have any questions, I'd love to hear from you.
My first session
During the consultation session I will ask a few more questions to get to know you a little better. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask me anything you would like.
From there, if we decide that we will be a good fit, we can get you booked in for regular counselling sessions.
