About me and my therapy practice
As a Dorset-based Counsellor, Integrative Therapist & Wellbeing Coach. I provide private 1-1 sessions to adults 18+ locally and remotely (online) across the UK.
At the heart of the therapeutic work is developing a trusting alliance with my clients while providing a safe, non-judgmental space to explore thoughts and feelings about troubling things. Counselling and Integrative Therapy can help with a wide range of (short and long-term) issues, including; Low self-esteem, Life purpose, Change and Loss, Relationship & Attachment issues, Trauma, Poor coping skills, Bad habits, Depression and Anxiety.
My background in support work, holistic therapy, and well-being coaching includes over ten years of experience helping individuals struggling with various situations, problems and issues. My role includes delivering government-approved programs in community hubs, Jobcentres, and probation centres.
I am open to working with you through whatever is troubling you, and I offer a range of therapeutic approaches that we can collaboratively integrate into your sessions. As our therapeutic relationship builds, we can recognise and discuss which approaches best suit you and match your needs.
Personal lived experiences led to my strong interest in health, wellbeing, psychology and formal training in various therapeutic approaches.
I set up in private practice, initially as a Holistic Therapist & NLP Coach, in 2012. Since then I have continued to add other qualifications and skills to my initial training.
The more recent Integrative psychotherapeutic approaches I am trained in include theories and models from Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioural (inc third-wave CBT), and Psychodynamic. My work with clients is adaptable, inclusive & trauma-informed.
My first sessionI offer a free initial phone call appointment (up to 30 mins), bookable through my website (yourwellbeingmatters.co.uk).
An initial call includes the opportunity to discuss your reasons and expectations from therapy, enabling us to discover if I am the right therapist to help you. You might have questions about the potential next steps forward relating to having some regular sessions, including what to expect from a first session.
I understand how the decision to seek therapy, counselling or coaching can feel overwhelming for some, especially if it is a new experience. Making that first step is often a difficult yet brave decision, and there may be worries about what to say when contacting a therapist. Knowing that I am described as friendly and approachable might be reassuring. I am here to help; your comfort during our call is important.
