Living Wisely: Counselling for a Calmer Life
I offer 30-minute and 50-minute online and phone sessions, supporting adults aged 21 to 50+, including those who identify as queer and/or neurodivergent (autism, ADHD). My holistic approach sees you as a whole person—beyond labels or diagnoses—and creates space for your individuality and authentic self-expression.
These sessions offer a gentle invitation to pause, reflect, and explore your thoughts and feelings—all from the comfort of your home. I have a few weekday morning slots available and would be happy to help you make time for yourself whenever you're ready.
About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Kes :-)
I’m a therapist, and as someone who occasionally uses therapy myself, I understand that reaching out can feel like a big step. It takes courage to open up about your thoughts and feelings.
I hope to support you in feeling relaxed and confident as we work together on your concerns, whilst empowering you to take care of your emotions and improve your well-being with self-compassion.
I’m also a real human being—not just a therapist. While sessions are about you, I’m happy to share anything about myself that might help you feel more at ease. Just ask.
Practice description
I practise a holistic, "whole person" approach, meaning I welcome all aspects of who you are and anything you want to explore. My work is informed by person-centred and integrative modalities.
You may find working with me helpful if:
- You feel different, unseen or unheard: I work with neurodivergent individuals (e.g., autism, ADHD—whether diagnosed or awaiting diagnosis) who are navigating academic pressures, work-related stress, or interpersonal challenges. I also have experience supporting LGBTQIA+ adults and young people, as well as migrants and refugees, including those facing minority stress, cultural adaptation, and identity-related concerns.
- You're struggling to communicate authentically: If fears about others' reactions, people-pleasing tendencies, or unresolved past traumas are affecting your confidence, relationships, intimacy, or self-expression, we can work together to help you feel more like yourself and strengthen your communication and boundaries.
- You're motivated to grow: Therapy provides a space for self-reflection and gradual change. I believe in the power of self-leadership, and I expect my clients to be committed to their growth both inside and outside of sessions.Together, we’ll work to help you create a life that feels right for you, based on your values and on your terms
Weekly sessions cost £40 - £70. Flexible plans and concessions may be available.
My first session
The first time we meet is an opportunity to explore your issues and develop a connection so we can get to know each other and how suitable we will be to work together. It's friendly, conversational and designed to support you to feel at ease. You are welcome to send me a message or book via my website to get started.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer a gentle, respectful space where you can pause, reflect, and come back to yourself—especially if life has felt overwhelming, uncertain, or noisy. I work online or by phone with adults across the UK, including those living in more remote or rural places, where privacy, quiet, and personal space are often highly valued.
Many of the people I work with are queer, neurodivergent, or deeply sensitive—people who’ve learned to navigate the world in their own way, often after years of feeling out of sync with the mainstream. They value calm, honesty, and being understood without having to explain everything.
My approach is holistic and person-centred. I won’t try to slot you into a box or push you to change. Instead, I offer a warm, steady presence—someone to walk beside you as you explore what matters most, at your own pace.
This space can be a quiet harbour—a place to untangle thoughts, process the past, explore identity, or simply rest and be heard. We can bring in metaphor, imagery, story-work, creativity, humour, or stillness—whatever feels right and helpful for you.

Hi, I'm Kes.
As both a therapist and someone who’s walked the client path myself, I know how vulnerable it can feel to open up. Therapy with me is like visiting the witchy healer down the valley or the village wise-person—where time slows, there’s a kettle on the hearth, and you can simply be.
I’m here to walk with you at your pace. There’s no rush—only space for what you need. You’ll find me warm, practical, and good at spotting patterns. About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Kes, and a wholehearted welcome to you.
I understand that it's usually not an easy decision to begin therapy. You may be here because something in your life isn't feeling right to you, or maybe you're worried about how others think of you, feel like you're stressed and running on empty too often.
Life is rough sometimes - for students, working parents, LGBTQ+ folks, and people just trying to thrive in difficult conditions. I work with a wide diversity of clients. I am here in solidarity alongside you, to support you to find your way through.
Together we can explore exactly what's going on, and what your strengths and values are, so that you can navigate through based on caring for your internal resources. Our work may also include tending to your vulnerabilities and emotional pain, and we may look into specifics of the psychological workings beneath issues such as anxiety and depression.
Practice description
Therapy means 'to accompany' and 'to be alongside'.
I will accompany you and support you to gain insights into your thoughts and emotions, so that you can create personal progress informed by greater self-awareness. You'll find, hopefully, that by the end of therapy, you understand yourself, your patterns, who you are, and what really matters to you so that you can create the changes that you need to in order to create better conditions for your thriving, as best as you can.
My first session
In our first session, you're invited to simply meet me and discuss what it is that you need from therapy. You're welcome to contact me to arrange your initial consultation, so that we can get to know each other and find out whether we're a good match for continuing to work together.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Kes – a therapeutic counsellor offering warm, down-to-earth space for thoughtful, sensitive people.
I work online with adults across the UK, including Orkney and other island communities. Many of the people I work with are neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, or culturally different in some way—people who’ve often felt on the edges of things, or whose needs and rhythms aren’t always understood by the wider world.
My approach is gentle, grounded, and focused on the whole person. I offer steady, ongoing support. This is a space to slow down, explore what matters to you, and make sense of your inner world—especially if you’re carrying things you’ve had to keep hidden for too long.
I have professional and lived experience with gender, sexuality and relationship diversity, and I’ve worked in mental health, refugee and youth settings. People often tell me I’m someone they feel safe being real with—even if therapy hasn’t worked for them in the past.
You don’t need to be in crisis to come to therapy. You just need a sense that something in you wants to grow, be heard, or breathe more freely.
Practice description
My approach is down-to-earth, relational, and gentle. I offer space to:
🌿 Pause and reflect at a pace that suits you
🌊 Untangle overwhelm and self-doubt
🏳️🌈 Explore identity and belonging without pressure
🪵 Strengthen your inner resilience—softly, over time
There’s no expectation to “fix” yourself here. Instead, we listen together for what’s ready to shift or settle. I work best with people who feel deeply, think a lot, and need therapy that respects their inner complexity.
You don’t need to be in crisis to come to therapy—sometimes it's simply time for a change, or to feel more at home in yourself.
Practicalities
Sliding Scale Fees: £30 to £80 per session.
Counselling may last 8 to 20 sessions or longer term.
