About me and my therapy practice

I am a person-centred counsellor, which means I believe individuals have the capacity for growth, change and healing when provided with the right therapeutic conditions. My role is to offer a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

Alongside my person-centred foundation, I work in an integrative way. This means I may also draw on additional tools and strategies where appropriate, depending on your needs and preferences.

Practice description

My aim is to build a therapeutic relationship where you feel understood, respected and supported. I offer both short-term and long-term online and telephone counselling. Some clients prefer a focused approach to a specific issue, while others benefit from longer-term support. We will work collaboratively to decide what best meets your needs.

I have particular experience working with:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Low mood and depression
  • Domestic violence and it's impact
  • Neurodivergence
  • Chronic pain and long-term health conditions
My training, professional experience, and personal lived experience in these areas enable me to offer both understanding and practical support. I have a particular interest in working with neurodivergent clients, recognising both the challenges and strengths associated with neurodivergence.

I also have specialist training and experience in supporting people who have experienced domestic abuse. I trained with a specialist charity and have worked with clients to rebuild confidence, self-worth and a sense of safety.

My integrative approach allows me to meet clients where they are and work in a way that supports reconnection with strengths and moving towards a more positive and authentic way of living.

My first session

In our first session, we will go through your counselling agreement and personal information form. I will send these by email before our first appointment for you to complete and sign in advance.

We will then review them together, including key aspects such as confidentiality and the importance of trust within the therapeutic relationship. This also gives us an opportunity to begin to know each other in a safe supportive way.

You will have a space to ask any questions or raise any concerns you may have about the process. We can then explore your reasons for seeking counselling and what you would like to gain from our work together, including your goals and expectations.
