About me and my therapy practice
A warm welcome and thank you for dropping by.
My name is Tricia, I am a Psychosynthesis therapist with a level 7 post graduate diploma. I am a registered member of the BACP and I trained at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London Bridge. The training is accredited with both the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
At the age of 26 I developed an interest in therapy & the healing arts which arose from my own personal difficulty. This prompted me to build robust inner resources from my engagement with personal development, which I now consider a process essential to life. This experience became the foundation of my earlier work and later client practice. Beyond formal certifications this has qualified me to guide others down a path I have walked and continue to travel myself.
It is both a passion and a privilege to now work with adult individuals using Psychosynthesis to support personal growth and change.
It can take courage to admit there is a problem and to seek help. Perhaps something in your life doesn’t feel right. You experience feeling low, anxious, lost, unmotivated, hurt, angry or uncertain about your situation; with family, in relationships or in the workplace.
At the heart of engagement is an attunement to the other without criticism or judgement. I hope to offer a safe, warm, gentle and confidential space for you to unpack what you are currently experiencing. I offer commitment and support and can walking beside you to help figure out what is really going on. I have found this process usually brings a sense of relief, allowing you to perhaps understand yourself in a different way for the first time. This in turn can support you to make satisfactory changes, so you can live your life more authentically and in a way that suits you better - enabling you to reach your individual potential.
Practice description
The Psychosynthesis style of counselling is an integrative approach, meaning it draws from different schools of psychology. I offer a person-centred perspective working with what is happening in the present for you. During our sessions if appropriate we might look at early conditioning, and explore the dynamics of the wider family & relationships. The way I work enables a wider lens approach assisting you in gaining a sense of deeper understanding, and clarity.
My style is gentle enquiry with an element of appropriate challenge where it may offer you benefit. We can journey at a pace that is suited to you. I sometimes invite working creatively with use of; object, imagery and metaphor, this can be useful to look beyond the challenges you might be experiencing. We can explore together, supporting you to find your own inner understanding so to develop greater self-awareness and acceptance. This type of approach appeals to those who long for a more authentic and truer experience of themselves. I can adapt my approach using different resources to tailor the therapy to best suit your needs and offer that which feels comfortable and the most meaningful for you.
In the interest of continually developing the depth of my work, I am currently involved in a somatic neuroscience-based training. This marries well with previous studies, allowing me to pay particular attention to the nuances of the nervous system. I fuse this within the framework of talking therapy. This brings integration of awareness from early developmental trauma (s), supporting a gentle, interdisciplinary approach towards restoring regulation and vitality.
My first session
It is important for you to find the right therapist so I would suggest having an initial conversation. This would give you the opportunity to speak about what is going on for you. And you can ask questions about me, and how I work as a practitioner, so you can see if what I offer is the right fit for you.
To arrange this free slot, you can contact me via this page or by email to arrange a time for a chat, and we can go from there.
If you then decide further to our conversation that you would like to work with me, we can find a mutually agreed time slot to follow.
I look forward to hearing from you.
