About me and my therapy practice
Experienced COSRT and BACP registered therapist offering psychotherapy, psychosexual therapy and relationship therapy to individuals and couples in Tavistock, Devon, Lostwithiel and St Austell, Cornwall and online across the UK.
Life can be challenging. We can experience difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, relationship strains or simply feel stuck in repeated patterns of behaviour. I offer a calm, confidential space to explore what is happening beneath the surface, make sense of your experiences and move towards meaningful change.
Sessions support anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma and life transitions, as well as relationship difficulties, communication breakdown, intimacy issues and sexual concerns such as low desire, erectile dysfunction, vaginismus and performance anxiety. Jamie’s psychotherapy work is informed by a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic framework
My approach is warm, direct and non-judgemental. I aim to create a space where you can slow down, speak openly, and feel supported to understand what is happening in your inner world and your relationships. I’m committed to creating an inclusive, non-judgemental environment where you can speak openly — at your own pace — about topics that can be hard to bring into words.
Practice description
Counselling & Psychotherapy
My psychotherapy work is informed from a psychodynamic / psychoanalytical perspective. This approach focuses on understanding how our past experience, attachment patterns and unconscious processes can shape how we feel, behave and relate to other in the present.
Psychosexual therapy – individuals and couples
Sex and intimacy difficulties can impact our confidence, closeness and relationships. I offer specialised psychosexual therapy to both individuals and couples in Tavistock, Lostwithiel and St Austell that can help with difficulties such as desire discrepancies, erectile dysfunction, vaginismus, pain during sex and performance anxiety. Psychosexual therapy sessions are collaborative, respectful and paced in accordance to your needs.
Relationship therapy – individuals and couples
I work with both individuals and couples in Tavistock, Lostwithiel and St Austell to explore reasons why you are struggling in your relationship. You may be experiencing difficulties with attachment issues, be stuck in conflict or mistrust or experiencing difficulties around intimacy. I create a calm, non-judgemental environment where difficult experiences including those that may be difficult to talk about can be explored sensitively and safely.
My work is informed by extensive specialist post graduate training with Tavistock Relationships – world renowned leaders in the field of relationship and psychosexual therapy. Combining this with my clinical experience working as a Psychosexual Therapist at 56 Dean Street, London – one of the UK’s most respected sexual health clinic’s allows me to work with complex emotional, relational and sexual difficulties with care, sensitivity and professionalism.
