About me and my therapy practice

I am an independent, experienced person-centred psychotherapist offering virtual therapy for adults and couples via Microsoft Teams.

My practice provides a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore life’s challenges at your own pace.

In my work with individuals, therapy is grounded in the person-centred approach, and I may also offer contemporary creative methods to support exploration and self-awareness. Creative approaches are always optional and used collaboratively, depending on what feels right for you.

I have trained in the Gestalt developmental model of couples therapy, which I integrate with a person-centred creative arts approach when working with couples. Where both partners are open to creative work, I may introduce creative processes to support exploration. I find that the Gestalt approach complements person-centred creative arts therapy by increasing individual awareness and supporting deeper understanding within the relationship.

The aim of couples counselling is to help both individuals become more conscious of how difficulties arise and how they impact the relationship. Creative methods such as sound, movement and image can help capture moods, feelings and meaning, particularly when words feel insufficient. As awareness of the core issues develops, we can then explore practical tools, choices and possible solutions together.

Practice description

I work collaboratively with clients to understand their experiences, build resilience, and support personal growth. If you feel comfortable, I may offer creative approaches such as painting, drawing, guided imagery, movement, drama, poetry, writing, or sculpture. These methods are optional, but many clients find them helpful for expressing emotions and exploring challenges in new ways.

Sessions are tailored to your needs, and I aim to create an environment where you feel heard, understood, and supported. You are welcome to contact me by email or phone to discuss working together or arrange a session.

My first session

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and explore what has brought you to therapy. I will invite you to share, at your own pace, what you feel comfortable discussing. As part of this session, I conduct a brief risk assessment to ensure your safety and wellbeing, and we work together to create an initial plan for your therapy.

We will discuss your goals, any concerns you may have, and how we might work together. This session also gives you the chance to ask questions about my approach, the therapeutic process, or the practicalities of online sessions.

I offer my standard rate for first sessions, and there is no obligation to continue if you feel I am not the right fit. My aim is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment where you can experience how therapy with me feels before choosing to move forward.

If you wish to continue, we will agree on session frequency and explore any creative or person-centred methods that might support your process. You are also welcome to contact me beforehand if you would like to discuss anything prior to our first session.
