About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes it's hard to explain what's wrong. Life may look fine on the surface, but underneath you might feel anxious, overwhelmed or unhappy. Perhaps you're overthinking, questioning your decisions or putting others' needs before your own, and you're tired of working it out alone.
I offer online counselling for adults experiencing anxiety, low self esteem, people pleasing, relationship difficulties, loss and the effects of difficult experiences, even those that seemed insignificant at the time. I also work with couples caught in repeated arguments or growing distance, helping them understand each other and reconnect.
The ways we've learnt to cope often make sense when we understand the experiences and relationships that shaped us. Keeping the peace, hiding how you feel or avoiding a fuss may once have helped, but can leave you exhausted, disconnected or unsure of what you need.
Counselling offers a gentle space to slow down, explore what's happening and understand yourself with greater compassion. It isn't about finding fault or fixing you, but listening to what you need, making sense of patterns that keep returning and finding new ways forward.
I believe being truly heard and understood is one of life's most valuable experiences, and that's what I hope to offer. Talking openly, without judgement, can bring clarity, help you feel more confident in yourself and your relationships, and begin to see new possibilities.
Whether you're living with the effects of earlier experiences, navigating a difficult time or simply sensing something isn't right, you don't need to have everything figured out. We can make sense of it together, at your pace.
Practice description
Starting counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you're unsure what to expect or whether you'll feel comfortable talking about things that may be difficult or personal.
I aim to make our conversations feel natural and relaxed, giving you time to find your words and talk about whatever matters to you, without feeling rushed or pressured.
I offer a free 20 minute introductory call if you'd like to talk before arranging a session. It's a chance for us to meet, discuss what you're looking for and see how we feel about working together. There's no obligation, just a conversation.
My first session
In our first session, we'll take time to explore where you are right now, what's brought you to counselling and what you hope might feel different over time, whether that's within yourself or in your relationship.
There's no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with. It's an opportunity for us to get to know each other, begin to understand what's important to you and think together about where we might start.

About me and my therapy practice
You may be here because your relationship feels stuck.
Perhaps you’re having the same argument again and again. One of you feels unheard; the other feels criticised or shut out. You might love each other deeply, yet feel increasingly distant, misunderstood or exhausted by conflict.
Even strong relationships can get pulled into painful cycles.
Often beneath the tension there is hurt — and a longing to feel close, secure and understood again.
I specialise in working with couples who feel caught in these patterns. In our work together, we slow things down and look carefully at what happens between you. Not to decide who is right or wrong, but to understand the cycle that keeps taking over.
When couples can see the pattern clearly, it becomes something you face together rather than something that divides you.
Reconnection is possible — even when things have felt heavy for some time.
Individual Work
I also work with adults who are living with the longer-term impact of childhood experiences that may not have looked obviously traumatic from the outside.
Many of the people who come to see me describe their childhood as “fine” or even happy. They don’t want to criticise their parents. And yet, emotionally, something may have been missing.
Perhaps one or both parents were emotionally unavailable. Feelings weren’t always acknowledged. You may have learned to cope quietly, to be the responsible one, or not to need too much.
Often there is a quiet belief underneath things:
“I’m not quite good enough.”
Or, “I might be too much.”
That tension can shape how you relate to others — in your friendships, your work, and your intimate relationships.
There is nothing “wrong” with you. Many of the ways you cope once helped you adapt. Therapy offers space to understand those patterns so they no longer quietly shape your present.
Practice description
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re used to managing on your own or keeping the peace.
I offer a calm, steady and boundaried space where you can speak openly and feel heard. We move at a pace that feels manageable, without pressure to “get it right.”
If you’re unsure whether this is the right step, you’re welcome to arrange an initial conversation to see how it feels to talk together.
I offer a free 20-minute introductory call. This is a chance to ask any questions, talk a little about what’s been going on for you — or for you both — and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit. There’s no pressure to commit; it’s simply a gentle way to begin.
You’re very welcome to get in touch.
