About me and my therapy practice

I am an Integrative Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, and an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) — the UK's largest professional body for counsellors and psychotherapists. My practice adheres to the BACP's rigorous ethical and professional standards, and I am pleased to welcome clients referred through AXA and Aviva insurance. I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate and full professional indemnity insurance.

My professional background spans schools, alternative education settings, and counselling charities, where I have supported both adults and young people — including those with Special Educational Needs — through a wide range of challenges. These include grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, identity concerns, relationship difficulties, and the emotional impact of significant life transitions or adverse childhood experiences.

I draw on a variety of therapeutic modalities — including Psychodynamic Therapy, Humanistic approaches, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy — adapting my approach to suit each client's unique needs, experiences, and personal goals. Which I use on supporting both adolescents and adults who present with complex mental health needs, including complex trauma, anxiety, depression, self-harm, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), ADHD and autism and the long-term effects of chronic stress.

Above all, I provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their experiences, develop deeper self-understanding, and work towards meaningful and sustainable change. Central to this is building a trusting therapeutic relationship that honours each client's autonomy and supports their own natural growth and positive change.

Practice description

I am an Integrative Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist offering both short‑term and long‑term therapeutic support, depending on what best suits each individual. My approach draws on a range of modalities, including Person‑Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic principles, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. This allows me to tailor our work together in a way that aligns with your unique circumstances, goals, and lived experiences.

I provide a confidential, non‑judgemental, and compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns at a pace that feels safe for you. My practice is trauma‑informed and sensitive to the diverse challenges people face, including experiences such as childhood trauma, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, identity‑related stress, bereavement, work‑related pressures, and the impact of long‑term or sudden life changes.

Together, we focus on developing insight, strengthening emotional resilience, and supporting your personal growth. Through guided reflection and collaborative exploration, the aim is to help you deepen your understanding of the issues you are facing and move toward meaningful, sustainable change.

My first session

I offer a free, no‑obligation 20‑minute telephone consultation, providing an opportunity to discuss your needs, explore what you are hoping to gain from counselling, and consider how I may best support you. This initial conversation also allows you to ask any questions, gain a sense of how I work, and reflect on whether my approach feels like the right fit for you.

During this consultation, we will also outline the potential next steps in counselling or therapy. This may include discussing the structure of sessions, availability, and suitable days and times should you choose to begin therapy.
