About me and my therapy practice

You don’t need to have the right words before starting therapy.

There’s a reason you feel this way — and it makes sense.

You may already understand some of your patterns, yet still feel overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally numb or stuck in ways you can’t fully explain. Perhaps past experiences, relationships or childhood wounds continue to shape how you see yourself, relate to others, or move through the world today.

Therapy with me is not about fixing you or telling you what to do.

Together, we create a space where you can slow down, explore what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin making sense of what you’ve been carrying emotionally for a long time.

The relationship between therapist and client is central to the work I offer. I aim to provide a warm, insightful and non-judgemental space where you feel emotionally safe, seen and supported in whatever you bring.

My role is not to direct your life, but to stay alongside you as you begin to understand yourself more fully and move towards meaningful change in a way that feels authentic to you.

I believe we are all shaped by diverse life experiences, identities and relationships. My practice values difference, and you are welcome to bring your whole self into therapy.

Practice description

I offer compassionate, trauma-informed therapy for people struggling with:

  • emotional pain
  • anxiety and depression
  • low self-worth
  • childhood trauma
  • difficult life experiences
  • feeling disconnected from themselves

I am a former Rape Crisis Counsellor and offer specialist support for female survivors of rape, sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse.

Clients often come to me because they want to:

  • understand and process painful emotions
  • make sense of past experiences
  • recognise patterns in relationships
  • trust themselves and their judgement
  • feel less overwhelmed, anxious or emotionally alone

My approach is integrative-relational, combining person-centred and psychodynamic therapy. This means I will follow your pace and focus on what feels important to you, whilst also gently exploring how past experiences and relationships may still be shaping your present life.

Where helpful, I may also incorporate mindfulness, CBT techniques and other therapeutic approaches depending on your individual needs.

My first session

Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’re unsure where to begin or whether therapy feels right for you.

I offer a free 20-minute initial call where you’re welcome to ask any questions, talk a little about what’s bringing you to therapy, and get a sense of whether working together feels supportive for you.

There is no pressure to commit following this conversation.

Finding a therapist you feel safe and comfortable with is an important part of the process, so you’re welcome to take your time deciding what feels right for you.

If you decide you would like to continue, we can arrange an initial assessment session. This gives us space to begin exploring your current difficulties, what may be contributing to them, and what support you may need at this time.

Ongoing sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly or fortnightly, on the same day and time, offering consistency and stability for the therapeutic work.
