About me and my therapy practice

I am a compassionate and experienced counsellor who values wellbeing across all socioeconomic backgrounds. Inspired by a strong family legacy of care and service, I am committed to supporting individuals, couples, and families through emotional and relational challenges.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, grounded in systemic and person-centred principles. I work collaboratively to create a safe and respectful space where individuals feel heard and understood, couples can strengthen communication and connection, and families can explore relationships, patterns, and change together. I recognise the importance of relationships, family systems, and wider social and cultural contexts, while also honouring each person’s unique lived experience, strengths, and capacity for growth.

I practise in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, ensuring my work is ethical, reflective, and client-centred. My aim is to provide a warm, welcoming, and professional therapeutic environment where clients feel supported to explore their difficulties, build resilience, develop insight, and move towards healthier relationships and meaningful change.

Practice description

I have over 15 years of extensive clinical counselling experience, including specialist work with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families. I provide family counselling for parents of children with SEND, offering a supportive space to explore challenges, strengthen relationships, and build resilience within the family system.

I also work with couples, supporting them to improve communication, deepen understanding, and build stronger emotional connection. In addition, I offer one-to-one counselling for adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and the emotional impact of chronic illness.

My experience in private practice with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds has strengthened my ability to work within a culturally responsive framework. I am committed to providing therapy that is inclusive, ethically informed, and sensitive to cultural values, identity, and lived experience.

Alongside my private practice, I deliver Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) counselling to employees across multiple organisations, supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and bereavement using focused, evidence-based interventions to promote emotional wellbeing and resilience.

In addition, my teaching role within adult and community education has deepened my understanding of local community dynamics and mental health needs, further informing my therapeutic work within the local context.
