About me and my therapy practice

Hey there 👋 I’m Ruth, an Integrative and Pluralistic Therapist.

What makes this form of therapy different is that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. As a Pluralistic practitioner, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, tailoring your therapeutic journey to you and what we feel may be most helpful at that moment. There is no single route through therapy.

Perhaps you are experiencing relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, overthinking or feeling stuck. We can explore different ways of responding and develop strategies to manage these challenges. Or perhaps you are working through loss, grief or difficult past experiences, including trauma. I work sensitively with mental health diaognoses, neurodivergence and learning difficulties. Therapy offers a safe space to process your thoughts, emotions and experiences.

To give you some insight, here is an example of what therapy with me might look like.

We might begin with practical coping strategies to help manage current stresses, build resilience and feel more able to handle daily challenges.

From there, we might explore different approaches depending on your needs. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) explores the relationship between thoughts, emotions and reactions. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you accept difficult thoughts and feelings while finding ways to move forward. Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) helps identify practical steps towards personal goals.

These are just some possibilities. We can explore these approaches or work towards longer-term therapy, perhaps using Psychodynamic methods to explore childhood experiences, significant relationships and important events, helping us understand what may lie beneath your current difficulties.

The important thing is that therapy is tailored to you.

With all these approaches, methods, models and acronyms 😅 why not start by getting to know one another? 😊
