About me and my therapy practice

Psychotherapy & counselling is a dedicated place to explore the relationship we have with ourselves, our past and the world around us, to enable deeper understanding and the process of change. I focus on supporting and facilitating this in a safe and confidential environment.

This is as a collaborative process with the emphasis on exploring together. It is a unique space to explore difficult thoughts and feelings — things it may be extremely hard to find an outlet for in the rest of your life. It involves discussing ideas, memories, behaviours, families, relationships, fantasies, dreams and significant events, with the hope of helping people understand something about what brought them to where they are today.

Practice description

What type of therapy or counselling do you offer?

My formal training is in the psychodynamic model which focuses on how we are shaped by our experiences and the role of our unconscious mind. I do not subscribe to a one-size-fits-all model or dogmatic school of thought and my practice is informed by a range of theories, philosophies and ideas. This includes ideas found in existential, humanistic, psychoanalytic and trauma-informed philosophies, as well as my own personal experience of the therapeutic world more broadly.

I work with people suffering from abuse, addiction, anxiety, bereavement, depression, o.c.d, panic attacks, sexual abuse, shame & trauma.

How long do I go for?

1. Open-ended

2. Short term (12 weeks to 6 months)

How long is a session?

50 mins

How many times a week would I go for sessions?

Once weekly

Training, qualifications & experience

My psychodynamic training took place at the U.K’s longest running counselling centre and I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (MBACP). As a Member of the BACP I adhere to their ethical framework of practise and standards of training.

I previously worked at two low-cost services; Highgate Counselling Centre & Highbury Counselling Centre. I currently work in private practice which includes referrals from established mental health services.

Alongside my professional training and the time I spend with clients, my own therapy has lasted many years and continues to significantly inform my practice
