About me and my therapy practice
Hi there! I’m Rebecca, it’s lovely to ‘meet’ you.
Are you looking for a space to explore your emotions and process your feelings without fear of judgement? Would you like support to begin to get a better understanding of yourself and what’s going on for you? I offer a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space where you can feel truly seen, heard and understood.
I’m a person-centred counsellor which to put it simply means rather than directing or diagnosing, I work alongside you as you navigate your own journey, supporting you to connect more deeply with yourself, your emotions and your experiences.
Reaching out for support doesn’t come easy to everyone and can often feel quite terrifying, but if you’re reading this then you’ve already taken the first step and that’s a real achievement.
Practice description
My approach is person centred so my practice is based around you, meeting you where you are, moving at your pace.
Alongside of my usual counselling sessions I am also trained in Single Session Therapy. Single Session Therapy is therapy without a long-term commitment. It’s a focused session aimed at offering you reflection, clarity and support. This does not mean that your issue is ‘small’ or that you can’t come back. It simply means we treat each session as complete in itself.
Some clients feel one session is enough, others choose to schedule more later or to progress to longer term counselling – the choice is always yours. If you would like to explore more about this please reach out!
My first session
Initial steps:
After you’ve reached out, I’ll contact you to arrange a free, no-obligation initial consultation, this can be either via telephone or video. Ask me any questions you may have, get a sense of how we may work together and decide if we’re the right fit.
First session:
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other better. You can talk about what’s bringing you to counselling, ask any questions, and get a sense of whether it feels like a good fit. There’s no pressure to share anything you’re not ready to — we’ll go at your pace.
We will complete a referral form and the counselling contract - outlining how the sessions work and what we can both expect from one another. We will discuss your hopes and goals for therapy and begin your counselling journey together.
What I can help with
ADD / ADHD, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Body/somatic therapy, Child related issues, Depression, Health related issues, Identity issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Menopause, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sensory impairment, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Substance Dependency, Women's issues, Work related issues
