I work exclusively online, offering sessions via Zoom or telephone.

My working days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

About me and my therapy practice

Are you finding life feels overwhelming? Perhaps things have been feeling “too much” for a while, and you’ve found yourself wondering “Is it really that bad?” or thinking “Shouldn’t I be able to just get on with this like everyone else”? Maybe you’ve spent a long time blending in – holding it all together while quietly feeling not good enough, or like you’re never really being yourself.

I’m Laurie, a psychotherapist who understands what it’s like to feel lost and invisible. I work with people who’ve learnt to hide how they really feel and are often really hard on themselves.

Some of the things people bring to my practice include (but are by no means limited to):

  • Feeling anxious, trapped, stuck, or lost
  • Feeling low, sad, or depressed
  • Low self-esteem or confidence
  • Feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or burnt-out
  • Difficulties following bereavement or loss
  • Mixed feelings around life changes and transitions
  • Abandonment wounds or experiences
  • Difficult relationships with parents
  • Exploring late-diagnosis neurodivergence

I have a specialist interest in supporting people through grief and loss — especially those navigating it in their 20s and 30s. I bring both personal experience and extensive research to support you through the unique challenges this can bring.

Whatever it is you wish to bring to the therapy space, I will offer reflections, insights, and gentle challenge to support you in developing your self-awareness and understanding. Over time, we can explore how this allows you to live in a way that feels more aligned and intentional.

If you’re ready - or even just curious - to understand how therapy with me might help you find some relief from overwhelm and self-doubt, and feel more at ease, I warmly invite you to keep reading or reach out for a free, no-obligation, 15-minute introductory call.

Practice description

I offer a warm, down-to-earth space where all parts of you are welcome.

I work one-to-one with adults (18+) providing an inclusive and affirming space for those who identify as (or are exploring whether they might be) neurodivergent or highly sensitive (HSP).

I won’t offer you advice or quick fixes. Instead, I’ll invite you to use our time together to explore what’s been causing you difficulty and uncover how past experiences might still be shaping your life. Bringing gentle awareness to the patterns in our relationships with others and our life experiences can help you to begin reconnecting with who you are beneath all the shoulds and expectations.

When words or feelings are hard to find, we can draw on metaphor, humour, or creativity. This might include a blend of trauma-informed, somatic, parts-informed, and creative approaches that help you tune into what’s happening beneath the surface – especially when talking alone doesn’t quite feel like enough.

Clients often share they leave therapy feeling:

  • Less anxious, lost, stuck, or weighed down.
  • Less caught up in self-doubt and overthinking.
  • More hopeful and trusting in themselves going forward.
  • More able to understand and express what they’re feeling.
  • More connected to who they are - not just who others want them to be.
  • More able to recognise and honour their own needs.
  • Kinder, more patient and compassionate towards themselves.

This is all possible for you too — even if it doesn’t feel that way just yet.
