About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Beth! I'm a qualified person‑centred counsellor offering online counselling across the UK. I’ve been practising for five years and have built thousands of hours of experience working through an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), supporting a wide variety of clients with many different challenges.
I have a particular interest in supporting people through bereavement and other forms of loss, and I understand how deeply grief can affect every part of life. Because grief looks different for everyone, I offer a gentle, accepting space where you can share whatever you’re feeling, in whatever way it shows up for you. Alongside this, I regularly work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, low self‑esteem, relationship difficulties, redundancy, caring responsibilities and chronic illness.
My approach is warm, collaborative and non‑directive. You lead the conversation, and I support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace. My role is to listen, reflect and help you uncover your own solutions, rather than giving advice or telling you what to do.
Counselling provides a safe space to pause, reflect and gain clarity, helping you make sense of what's happening in your life. Even a few sessions can bring relief, insight and practical strategies while longer-term work can support deeper personal growth.
Practice description
I am currently offering online (Google Meet) or telephone individual counselling for adults, supporting people with a wide variety of issues. No matter what has brought you to counselling, my aim is to make the process accessible and supportive, fitting comfortably around your life.
My first session
I offer a free introductory session to discuss your needs and see if we feel like a good fit. You can book this by emailing beth@gentlespacecounselling.com.
Your first session gives us both the chance to get to know each other and see if we're a good fit. This is an important part of the process - you should feel comfortable, safe, and able to trust me to support you. During this session, we'll also go through the counselling agreement and any practical details, such as how often you might like to meet and for how long (there are no right or wrong answers to this).
