About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified Integrative Therapist & Counsellor, and a member of the British Association For Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This means that I adhere to the BACP’s ethical framework, therefore ethical principles, values and good practice standards are at the core of my practice.

My clients are central to the work that I do and it is my desire to help others in healing and feeling fulfilled in their lives that provided my pathway to becoming a therapist. I believe in recognising and facilitating wholeness in my work with individuals and so tailor my approach to individual needs. I always aim to offer an empathetic, non-judgmental space in which you can feel safe to bring or discover your authentic self.

I have previously worked within an NHS IAPT service, providing short term therapy to a broad range of clients.

Before qualifying as a therapist, I gained a BA in English from University College London and so believe that literature can often provide solace, comfort and the words to express something when our own language fails.

I am an Integrative Therapist, which means that I often utilise many different ways of working with clients, although most importantly, I recognise the significance of the relationship between client and therapist in facilitating growth and healing. I believe that the human connection offered in therapeutic spaces holds the ability to enable change.

Therapy has the capacity to be as unique as the individuals who seek it. I do not operate with a ‘one size fits all’ approach and whilst I draw upon my knowledge of research and contemporary therapeutic studies, I do not attempt to manipulate and squeeze my clients into said models. I always aim to truly see the person in the therapeutic space.

I work with a broad range of clients and content, aiming to make the sessions that I offer as accessible as possible.

Practice description

If you are considering accessing therapy but still have questions, I offer a free 20 minute discovery call. In this call, you can ask any questions that you may have about therapy and share what you are hoping to gain from sessions. We will then determine together whether we feel we are a suitable fit and will schedule further sessions from there.

When we start working with one another, our first session will be an initial assessment and will establish how we wish to work with one another throughout our time together. We will also take time to regularly review our work so that I can ensure you are getting the best out of our therapy sessions.

I usually see clients once a week for 50 minutes, although am flexible with timings and arrangements where appropriate. I offer both short and long term therapy, both in person and remotely.

Each person has a different relationship with therapy and so how you may feel before and after sessions may change throughout the course of our time together. This is completely normal. I always discuss with the clients the importance of self-care and ways they can look after themselves in between our sessions.
