About me and my therapy practice
As a therapist, my primary goal is to ensure you feel seen, heard, and understood, paving the way for meaningful change. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, perhaps something you've been meaning to do but kept putting off. It's natural to have worries, but in my experience, therapy often becomes a comforting and encouraging space.
Before becoming a therapist, my background was in training and development, particularly in mental health, corporate well-being, and management training. I predominantly worked with clients in the media industry. Therefore, I understand the demands and challenges of both creative and corporate environments, as well as the impact work can have on our levels of anxiety and overwhelm.
As an integrative practitioner, I am guided by the idea that no single approach to therapy that works best for everyone. My work is influenced by a blend of psychotherapeutic theories, and evidence-based techniques. When you work with me, we will spend time considering what it means to be you, and reflect on unhelpful behavioural patterns and coping strategies, all of which will guide us to more fulfilling and helpful ways of managing life’s challenges. This work is essential in understanding the limiting beliefs you might hold about yourself and how they have been formed. This process can have a profound impact on the relationship we have both with ourselves and those around us.
I practise in an inclusive way that values diversity across age, race, background, gender, sexuality, and relationship styles. I have significant experience supporting neurodivergent clients and work in a neuro-affirmative way.
Qualifications & Experience:
My clinical experience includes work in the NHS, low-cost therapy services and private practice.
MA in Psychotherapy & Counselling: Regent’s University
Foundation Certificate in Psychotherapy & Counselling: Regent’s University
I regularly attend additional courses and seminars to broaden my knowledge base and skillset.
Practice description
Therapy sessions take place at the same time each week and are 50 minutes long. I usually work on an open-ended basis, meaning that therapy often lasts for at least six months and goes on for as long as you wish to continue. If you are interested in working in a short term time-limited format (6-12 sessions) this is something we can discuss.
My practice room is located on City Road, a 5 minute walk from Old Street Station. This is a peaceful and confidential space where you will not be disturbed. I also work online if that is more convenient.
My office is on the first floor, without lift access. Therefore it is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
My first session
We will begin with a 30-minute online introductory session which is free of charge. This offers you the opportunity to share some of what brings you to therapy, to see what it feels like talking to me, and to better understand whether you would like to work together.
