About me and my therapy practice

Why come to counselling

People come to counselling for many reasons. You may have a very specific issue you would like to work on such as anxiety, depression, illness, relationships, self-esteem, identity or bereavement. Or you may be unclear but feeling generally overloaded, or stuck and want things to change. Whatever is bringing you to counselling I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space to talk. Together we can work things through.

What to expect

My therapy is client led. What does that mean for you? In our sessions we will discuss where you are now in life and what you would like to achieve from counselling. To help with this we will consider your beliefs and values and what is important to you. We will talk through how you think and feel, and how this influences your relationships with others and can impact your day to day world.

To support you I will draw on a number different therapeutic approaches but will adapt them to suit your needs. While working on current issues our aim will be to improve your overall wellbeing and resilience.

My therapeutic practice

I have been part of the field of mental health and wellbeing for over 20 years. My clients come from all walks of life and bring their own unique perspective. While also being part of a wider community of shared experience.

I have particular interest in working with: unpaid carers, those affected by substance misuse, people living with chronic pain and long term health conditions, neurodivergent clients, and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Many families and individuals experience bereavement and loss. This comes in many forms. If this is part of your story please know that as a trained bereavement counsellor I am here for you.

I welcome your enquiry whatever challenges you face. I look forward to talking with you.
