About me and my therapy practice

My background and my practice

I am a Metanoia trained Humanistic therapist and specialist bereavement counsellor. I was born in Central London to an Irish/ Scottish family and have lived and worked within very diverse communities. Prior to becoming a therapist I was employed primarily within the public sector, including the NHS, and laterly within a number of universities.

I have worked with a number of low-cost counselling agencies and charities, including those supporting unpaid carers and families affected by substance misuse.

I trained as a therapist because counselling helped me. I am here to offer you the same warm, impartial, and confidential space in which to talk.

People come to counselling for many reasons. They may feel anxious, stuck, overwhelmed, depressed, bullied, or unheard.  Whatever is bringing you to counselling - I'm here to listen.

In our sessions I will offer you a place to talk through where you are now and what you want from counselling. Together we will look at your experiences of the world, and what really matters to you in life. We can discuss how all of this shapes the way you think, feel, and behave, and how that might impact your relationships with others.

I use a number of different approaches including Person Centered, Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis in my counselling practice. I also work in an holistic way focusing on your overall health and wellbeing. I will offer you everything in my therapy toolbox, adapted to your needs. My therapy is client led, so we work at your pace and your comfort level to find new ways forward.
