About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. Working in an integrative way means that I use a number of approaches when working with clients. I believe that one size doesn't fit all. People need different approaches depending on what the issues are that they want to address.
Engaging with therapy can be daunting and can feel like a big step. I offer a warm, confidential, non-judgmental, and compassionate space where you can work through difficult emotions and issues. The work I do focuses on incorporating practical strategies using CBT methods to help with present difficulties. Alongside this working on exploring your past to identify behaviour patterns and understand relationship dynamics in the present.
By bringing awareness to unconscious behaviours, thoughts, and emotions you give yourself choice. Identifying behaviour patterns from a place of compassion can provide an understanding of self and understand our relationship dynamics with others.
I work with anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, addiction, bereavement, sexual trauma, and women’s health including postnatal depression and menopause.
Practice description
I work in person in Angel/Islington, and also online. The most important part of engaging with therapy is the relationship between the client and therapist. Before agreeing to work together I like to have a short phone conversation where we can ask each other questions and talk through what you would like to work on.
Each full session going forward is 50 minutes long.
I offer both short and long term sessions and I also offer fortnightly sessions.
I can sometimes be flexible with the session times changing days depending on availability.
My first session
The initial session is a way for you to see if we will be a good fit going forward. This session will involve a deeper look into what brought you to therapy, discussing the psychotherapy contract and what your goals are for therapy.
Following this I will give you a few days to decide whether you would like to sign the contract to work together.
The initial session is charged at the full rate and is 50 minutes long.
