About me and my therapy practice

The biggest step is making contact with a counsellor and it can seem extremely daunting and overwhelming…I have been in your shoes and I know it’s not easy but doing so is the first stride to helping yourself. 

At Cherish The Pearl counselling, I believe you are the pearl who deserves to cherish yourself and to be cherished.  

I can help by providing a warm, non-judgmental, confidential space in which you will feel safe to talk about your experiences. I see you as the pearl and will value you as a person, acknowledging and recognizing your journey as well as helping to work with your individuality and beauty.  

I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor who sees therapy as something we should all undertake and as much needed self-care.  I am passionate about my work and helping people to make sense of what is happening to them.  Whether that be to overcome previous trauma,  conquer challenges they face currently, or move forward in their lives.  

It is important to me that our therapeutic relationship is built on trust, respect and care.  It is not easy to open up to someone about your emotions and/or confusion you have, even if you think it is trivial.  Rest assured I care and am here to listen to you and help you with your thoughts and feelings. 

My experience has been extensive, working for a charity that specialised in parenting therapeutically, helping birth/foster/adoptive parents of children with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).  I  also work with the NHS and a social enterprise in the community supporting people with many difficulties including:

Practice description

As an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor I draw on different approaches whilst also tailoring sessions to your needs and requirements.  Working together we can explore the roots of any difficulties that may be challenging or causing you distress and stopping you from being the person you want to be.

My first session

I offer a free initial telephone consultation of up to 20 minutes whereby you can ask me any initial questions and we can explore what you would like to get from therapy and how we can work together. 

We would then arrange a session whereby we would discuss the contract which would include my responsibilities to you, a confidentiality agreement, the fee and payment details and the cancellation policy.
