I am an experienced BACP accredited psychotherapist.
I work in-person and also online.
About me and my therapy practice
As with many therapists I can work with whatever you bring but I can particularly offer help with -
- Difficulties with relationships, co-dependency and attachment;
- Anxiety and depression;
- The mind-body connection;
- Tension and emotion held in the body:
- Feeling disconnected from what you want or need;
- Issues from your childhood;
- Low self-worth, shame or self-criticism;
- Doubt, transition, loss or significant change.
- Feeling unfulfilled or inauthentic.
Greater self-understanding and a more comfortable relationship with yourself brings greater choice — whether that means changing something, accepting something, or responding differently in the future.
Practice description
Sessions will start with what you want to talk about and develop from there depending on your goals and what arises as we explore you current situation and also how your previous experiences may be influencing your life now.
We can also incorporate movement into sessions and integrate somatic (body) awareness into the work, supporting you to notice how physical sensations, posture and patterns of tension can deepen self-understanding and support change.
To deepen this mind-body approach I am undertaking a UKCP-accredited four-year experiential training in Body Psychotherapy at the Cambridge Body Psychotherapy Centre (CBPC).
This combined body-mind approach can be particularly helpful for clients who feel they have “talked about things before” but continue to struggle with longstanding patterns.
Depending on what you want from therapy I can adapt the approach we take together. My focus is on careful attunement to you and your individual needs.
Sessions are 60 minutes.
The fee is £70 per session.
I have some concessionary slots so please ask if this applies to you.
For online sessions I will send a Zoom link prior to the session. You will need to be somewhere comfortable and undisturbed to benefit from the session.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute informal initial consultation. This gives us an opportunity to discuss what you are looking for and for you to get a sense of whether you would like to work with me. If I feel another approach or practitioner may better meet your needs, I will discuss this with you openly.
If your therapy is being funded by your workplace or another organisation, I can provide CORE assessments to establish a baseline and repeat them at agreed intervals if required.
I usually suggest an initial block of six to twelve sessions, which we review as we go. I also offer longer-term work where appropriate. Sessions are 60 minutes, whether online or face to face.
All sessions are confidential, and I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.
