About me and my therapy practice

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), currently in the final stages of my doctorate in Counselling Psychology, with over 12 years’ experience working therapeutically across clinical, community, and forensic settings.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and long-standing patterns that affect wellbeing, relationships, and daily life. Many people I work with feel overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted while continuing to manage on the surface. I also support individuals affected by addiction (personally or within family systems), perinatal and postnatal difficulties, bereavement, and cultural or family-related stress.

My approach is integrative, drawing on CBT, psychodynamic, Schema Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), tailored to each person. Therapy focuses on understanding patterns and how they develop, alongside working towards more helpful ways of responding in daily life. The aim is to support meaningful, practical change as well as deeper understanding over time.

Practice description

My practice offers a confidential and supportive space where we work collaboratively at a pace that feels manageable for you. Sessions focus on exploring recurring patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships, and how these influence your day-to-day life.

I work in an integrative way, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what is most helpful for you. This may include exploring past experiences, current challenges, and relational patterns, alongside developing practical strategies to support change in everyday life.

The aim of therapy is not only to understand difficulties, but to support lasting change in how you manage emotions, respond to challenges, and relate to yourself and others. Over time, this can help increase emotional clarity, stability, and a greater sense of control in daily life.

I offer online therapy sessions only, working with clients across the UK and internationally

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to explore what has brought you to therapy and what you would like support with. It also gives you space to ask questions and get a sense of how I work, so you can decide whether you feel comfortable continuing.

We may explore current difficulties, relevant background, and what you would like to change or understand better. There is no expectation to go into anything before you feel ready, and we will work at a pace that feels appropriate for you.

Sessions are 50 minutes and delivered online. My standard fee structure applies from the first session, and full details are available in the fees section. After this session, we can decide together whether ongoing therapy feels like a good fit.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi there! I'm currently completing my Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and have spent the last 10 years working with adults and young people aged 16 and over. I can offer you confidential support with a range of issues like anxiety, depression, and stress. I offer flexible session times and work remotely, so no matter where you are in the UK, we can connect either by phone or online.

I'm fully registered with both the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My experience comes from working in a variety of settings including prisons, hospitals, the NHS, GP surgeries, colleges, and various charities. I've specialised in areas like general and social anxiety, depression, bereavement, addiction, and trauma. I can also help with relationship problems, anger, and challenges related to perinatal/postnatal experiences.

Whether you're seeking counselling to explore your feelings and thoughts, or you're looking for personal growth, our conversations can help you gain a better understanding of your life, relationships, expectations, and fears. This can bring relief and provide greater insight into your current challenges and overall life experience.

Practice description

When we work together, I use a combination of psychodynamic and person-centred approaches, and I often incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) when it's helpful. My focus is on understanding how you relate to and experience life. With my extensive training, I draw on psychological and psychotherapeutic theories and research to help reduce your psychological distress and promote your wellbeing.

In our sessions, I aim to create a genuine, empathic, and trusting space where you can feel safe to share your experiences. I respect your autonomy in choosing what concerns to focus on and the pace at which we work. For me, the therapeutic relationship is built on equality and trust. I strive to offer a safe, confidential environment free from judgement, where I can deeply empathise with your concerns. Research shows that the quality of the relationship between therapist and client is crucial to the effectiveness of therapy.

If you're ready to take the next step, I'm here to support you on your journey. Let's work together to help you find relief and greater understanding.

My first session

Before our first session, I offer a  twenty-minute introductory phone call for £30.

Our first session is crucial for establishing how we'll work together and setting the boundaries of our therapeutic relationship. It's a chance for you to share your expectations of me as your therapist.

This first session is your opportunity to learn more about psychotherapy and ask any questions about my experience and practice. Confidentiality is of utmost importance, and I will clearly explain any limits to it, similar to the confidentiality offered by your doctor.

During this first session, we'll also discuss your expectations for our work together, the issues that have brought you to therapy and the changes you’re seeking. You'll have the opportunity to ask me any questions about how I work, the therapeutic model I use, and we can finalise payment details. This meeting should be a positive experience that helps you determine the best path forward.
