About me and my therapy practice
Working with the energy you bring, together, we create a therapeutic space for you to lead sessions at your own pace. Trauma informed, compassionate inquiry helps create a therapeutic partnership: providing stillness and clarity, supporting you to untangle difficult and complex thoughts and feelings. You are held in a safe space, offering warmth and kindness whilst you arrive at your solutions with feelings of hopefulness and renewal.
Practice description
My work is Trauma informed and I use compassionate inquiry to understand your story so far. We unravel what has happened, to help you move forward leaving behind trauma, guilt, shame and any other emotions that aren't creating peace in your mind or body. Counselling can be an extremely daunting and anxiety inducing process, especially when you are a private person who avoids talking about themselves.
Talking to a stranger about our interior thoughts can feel uncomfortable; therefore it is paramount to find a Counsellor who will put you at ease and makes you feel safe
I work in person, online, and on the telephone, creating a therapeutic space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. I love helping people work through obstacles and blockages in their world. I have a varied life history and will use a range of therapeutic approaches in your quest for meaning and self improvement. Primarily working with the Person centred modality, I may use other approaches like CBT, creative activities like painting or poetry in bibliotherapy to tailor the therapy to your individual needs, passions and interests.
My first session
We initially conduct a free 20 minute telephone assessment to determine what you are needing and whether counselling is appropriate for you. This sets out realistic expectations and goals from the therapeutic work. We discuss any prior experiences of counselling and preferred ways of working to meet your agenda. All counselling sessions are a balanced, non hierarchical space where we meet as equals, and I aim to dispel any myths about the counselling process so you are comfortable to speak freely and get the most out of our time together.

About me and my therapy practice
Welcome, the decision to seek therapy is not to be taken lightly and I appreciate the journey you have undertaken to arrive at this point. To seek support and help is a sign of strength and with the right conditions in place the decision to do something different can be a life changing act of self love and compassion.
I work in a person centred modality using a trauma informed lens, and with gentle compassionate inquiry.
You are at the centre of the work.
Together, through talk, silence or play we unravel your obstacles and concerns and progress towards you finding your own strategies to best develop your resilience and self awareness and to help you feel more light and hope in your future.
Practice description
Therapy can be hard work and can also be extremely rewarding. Preparing to take that leap into the unknown can be unsettling and it is paramount to feel like you are in safe hands.
I have extensive experience working with adults, young people and children and enjoy working with all ages. Change can occur at any stage of life and to be able to witness and observe someone making better choices is always humbling.
As a neurodivergent practitioner I have a wide range of tools in working with neurodivergent clients and appreciate how sometimes a lack of diagnosis and awareness can cause mental health issues arising from a lack of proper support and understanding of a person processing needs.
I create a therapeutic space that is free of judgement and is a space for all regardless of background. I appreciate we all have our own unique back stories and this informs our sense of who we are and how we operate in our worlds; I use our differences to help you value your uniqueness.
My first session
The first step is a telephone conversation, email or text exchange to determine if we are compatible to work together. If we are a good match then we will book a session.
In the event that I am unable to work with you, I will refer you to another agency or organisation that may meet your needs better.

About me and my therapy practice
