About me and my therapy practice

I’m Paula and I’m really glad you found me. I am an experienced counsellor that will focus on your individual needs. Are you seeking a safe and supportive space to explore the troubles you are facing? Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck or frustrated with life. Are you feeling depressed or anxious about a particular life event? I am here to support you on your journey towards emotional healing and personal growth.

What I can help with

I work with anxiety related issues, low mood, self esteem, major life transitions and attachment issues. I have a keen interest in helping individuals going through relationship difficulties. Whether you are facing challenges in your intimate partnership, family dynamics, or friendships, I am here to help you to understand yourself and others better. Is the relationship making you unhappy and having a negative impact on your life? Some of these issues can cause feelings of guilt and shame, have you questioning life's purpose or lead to breakdown in communication. I will listen, support you and help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes.

I also have significant experience and additional training in bereavement counselling and I work alongside a bereavement support organisation. I understand the unique challenges that come with loss and grief as it can affect everyone so differently.

My counselling practice is a safe and nurturing space for you to explore your experiences, free of judgement, but full of empathy, unconditional positive regard and honesty. I have been described as calming, with a warm and gentle nature. I run a person centred practice in South Manchester, either face to face or remotely.

Practice description

I offer a safe, confidential and warm environment and I welcome all of my clients with respect and acceptance. Counselling will tailored to your unique individual needs. Person centred counselling isn’t about giving advice or telling you what to do, but offering a space where we can explore what is going on and how we can work towards change. Through the relationship that we build, I will help you to discover a deeper understanding of yourself and what is happening in your life in a way that promotes self discovery and personal development. Whatever you are going through, I will be right beside you in a safe, supportive and caring way.

In addition to my professional qualifications, I have a deep understanding of some of the complex and varied roles that we often take on in our lives. I believe that my lived experience can be a valuable asset in creating a space where individuals feel heard, understood and supported.
