About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Paula, and I’m glad you found my page.
Are you carrying more than you can manage right now? You might be feeling lost, overwhelmed, stressed or worried about something that is happening in your life? You are not alone! Many people experience difficult thoughts and feelings at times, but you don’t have to face them by yourself - I’m here to listen and support you. I provide a grounding and reflective space where you can begin to make sense of what’s happening for you.
What I can help with
I support people who are navigating:
- stress
- anxiety
- depression
- low self-esteem
- burnout
- trauma
- bereavement
- other significant life changes.
My work often centres on relationships and loss, supporting individuals through the complexities of both. Whether you’re facing challenges in your intimate partnership, family dynamics, or friendships, I am here to help you make sense of what is happening, explore the emotional impact and find a way forward. Some of these issues can lead to feelings of guilt, shame and anger, leading to poor communication and boundaries.
I will listen with care, support you and help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes.
I’m also an experienced loss and bereavement counsellor
Loss can show up in many ways, sometimes seen, sometimes felt quietly, but it can still impact on how we feel and cope day to day. I have worked alongside a bereavement charity as a volunteer for many years, which also helps me to provide knowledgable support to my clients.
Practice description
You may come to counselling feeling stuck and unsure how to move forward and some people don’t know exactly what’s causing their distress, which is completely normal. This is where I can help. I will be alongside you as we gently unravel what’s happening, make sense of it together, and find a way forward. I aim to help you find practical ways to feel more in control and create a sense of ease.
My hope is to provide a space where you feel safe enough to say things out loud, even the messy, distressing, confusing and painful parts. Together, we’ll work towards healing, personal growth and positive change so you can start to feel better.
I’m an experienced, BACP registered Person Centred counsellor and will wholeheartedly offer a safe, confidential and warm environment where you feel truly heard, in an empathetic, confidential and non-judgemental way. I welcome all that you bring with respect and acceptance.
I have been where you are as a client and can fully appreciate how challenging it can be to find the right fit, but I also know what a wonderful, rewarding process it can be when you do.
My practice is based in Didsbury in a private, comfortable and calming setting. I offer face to face sessions. I also offer remote sessions via Zoom for people further afield.
