About me and my therapy practice

My style of therapy is warm, down-to-earth and conversational. I'll give you plenty of space to talk, but I won't just sit silently and leave you wondering what you're supposed to say. I'll ask questions, share what I'm noticing and, where it's helpful, explain some of the psychology behind what you might be experiencing. I might gently challenge you too when I think we've come across something important.

I work with people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma and life transitions. I also have particular experience working with LGBTQ+ clients and men's mental health.

Practice description

I see therapy as something we work out together. We can look at what's happening in your life now, but also at the experiences and patterns that may be influencing how you're feeling today. My aim isn't to tell you how to live your life, but to help you understand yourself more clearly so that you can make decisions that feel right for you.

I think good therapy should feel like a genuine conversation. There'll be space for difficult feelings and serious conversations, but it doesn't always have to feel heavy or clinical. There can be humour too.

My first session

I offer a complimentary consultation of up to 30 minutes before you decide whether you'd like to work with me. It's an opportunity for us to have a chat, for you to get a feel for how I work, and for me to make sure I have the right experience to support you. There's no obligation to book afterwards.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an online Counsellor and Psychotherapist working with clients across the UK. You may be struggling with a specific issue or pattern of behaviour and know already what you would like to talk about. Alternatively, you may simply be feeling down and low and need support with processing your feelings and emotions. Counselling may be able to offer a fresh perspective, or support you to make changes needed to get you to a better place. I work with women and men from all backgrounds, in a range of areas. I have worked closely with male issues and have experience working with gender diversity and LGBT+ issues.
