About me and my therapy practice
Thinking of counselling? What can I offer you?
I have a warm, empathic approach, enabling you to experience the unique connection of a therapeutic relationship. I am a Person-Centred Counsellor, I work alongside you exploring your thoughts, feelings and experiences to help you to be able to process, make sense of things, and find some possible ways forwards.
I am fully insured and have experience working in voluntary counselling settings, (Mind and Off the Record in Norwich,) within the NHS and in a palliative care setting as a counsellor, in addition to my private counselling work.
Whatever you would like to work on will be guided by you; whether that be feelings around anxiety or depression, or wanting to work on something from your past or an area of personal development, or so many other possibilities.
I aim to offer a space for you to understand yourself better, build trust in yourself and possibly view things in your life in a different way or with an altered perspective. You may share things that you have not talked about before.
We will talk about what goals you have for therapy and can work in an open ended way, which means there is not a limit on the amount of sessions you can book. We will review our work regularly as a check in to see how things are going for you.
The decision to look for a counsellor or therapist can be one that’s been thought about for some time; or as a result of significant change; a feeling that something isn’t quite right; wanting to work through something or find a new way forwards; or for a multitude of other reasons.
Like most things, it can feel like a step into the unknown, which can be unnerving at times, but can also bring the possibility of great rewards.
Practice description
I work both face to face from rooms at Saxon Wellbeing Ltd in Beccles and online/by telephone.
I have availability for new clients, and can offer sessions on weekday evenings.
I can also offer sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays during the day.
Please do get in contact to discuss current availability.
My first session
I offer a free of charge initial phone call before your first session to find out a bit more about what has led you to explore counselling at this time.
The first session will talk through practical details of counselling with me - such as dates/times of sessions and will also give time to start to find out a bit more about you and what you would like to get from counselling sessions.
It's normal to feel a bit apprehensive before a first session. If it's an in person session I will meet you at the front door of Saxons, the location of my practice room, so you know you are in the right place.
There's ample parking in the town of Beccles and the counselling room is warm and welcoming.
If you have chosen online or telephone sessions I'll email all the details beforehand, and will have a plan B discussed with you in case the tech is "temperamental".
I look forward to meeting you. If you are curious to find out more, do get in touch.

About me and my therapy practice
I know how important having a good supervisor is, and looking for a supervisor can feel overwhelming. So what can I offer you?
My supervision practice is based on the Seven Eyed Model and Appreciative Inquiry. The aim is to create a space that feels one for reflection, collaboration and curiosity. Sometimes the work can feel quite isolating and having space in supervision to share clients is invaluable. The aim is that supervision will feel grounded with respect for each other as practitioners, with a clear focus on ethical practice.
We will explore your therapeutic relationships and client work and how your practice feeds into you as a person. Supervision can at times be challenging and thought provoking as well and enlightening and enjoyable. We can learn from clients, from each other and from all the differing relationships.
If you are curious to find out more about how I work as a supervisor do get in touch for a no obligation chat either by phone, video call or via email. I work face to face in Beccles Suffolk but also online and by telephone if you prefer. Please ask for current supervision rate.
Practice description
Following successful completion of the “Form and Freedom” Post Graduate certificate level supervision course, I offer person centred supervision as part of my private practice offer. I supervise both fellow counselling professionals and those in other helping professions and have worked with integrative and person centred counsellors in a supervisory capacity. I also offer group supervision to a local counselling charity and facilitate monthly group sessions there.
I aim to offer encouragement, support and a diversity of experience to help you develop your skills and confidence. With my background of voluntary counselling in the charity sector, previous employment as a counsellor in a hospice setting, work as a therapeutic practitioner in the NHS and successful private practice I believe I have a variety of experience to bring to supervision sessions and look forward to working with you in a professional relationship that centres on you and your clients.
My first session
I offer a free 30 minute online or telephone initial exploratory session. We can talk about your work, get to know each other, and consider whether working together feels like the right fit. You can answer any questions you might have.
