About me and my therapy practice

Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, lost or stuck, having problems with relationships or work, searching for a space to explore, be curious, grow, develop and create change? Whatever brings you here I recognise that seeking counselling can be daunting and if you are here, reading this now then you have taken the first step, welcome.

I am an Oxford based therapist offering short and long term counselling to adults and young people, aged 11 – 18 years. I work online and see clients face to face in Wheatley and North Oxford.

Qualified as a Transactional Analysis Counsellor and Coach working in a therapeutic counselling role for the last 4 years and a registered member of BACP.

I hold a BA hon’s in Youth and Community Work and have 25 years’ experience working therapeutically in the public and charitable sector. Providing complementary counselling to adults and young people from diverse background with a range of needs and complexities.

At the core of my practice, I believe that you are the expert in your life, you have the answers and resources within and the capacity to find new ways of dealing with the here and now. Therapy is best approached with a willingness to be curious, I offer a warm, safe, non-judgmental and empathic space for exploration and discovery. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, confusion, loss or are in a place of transition, whatever it is that you brings you to counselling, I will accompany you on your journey. Working with you to make meaning of your thoughts, feelings and experiences, being curious and reflective about internalised messages and how patterns are formed, exploring different ways of dealing with challenges and engaging in the counselling relationship as the vehicle for change.

Practice description

Transactional Analysis counselling is primarily focused on the here and now, focusing on you as an individual and within your given contexts. I work relationally, placing importance on the relationship between us, the therapy is led by you, supported and contained by me.

Utilising the many TA maps and tools we will work together and be curious, develop awareness, have courageous conversation and when appropriate gentle challenge. This exploration will facilitate growth, development and change, whatever that means for you. Through the enhancement of your strengths and resources there is real opportunity to increase autonomy and effect positive changes in your life. What you experience in the counselling room can be taken into daily life.

I am a registered member of BACP adhering to the BACP ethical framework and attend regular supervision and CPD to support my work.
