About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling anxious? Depressed? Or experiencing a general feeling of sadness that you can’t explain? Do you feel lost and left wondering why you feel this way? Do you have a deep desire to be heard, not judged, to feel safe and have the opportunity to connect with your feelings and work through the emotions that you are feeling, in your own time, at your own pace.

I can provide that space for you.

By getting to know ourselves better we can gently and compassionately understand ourselves and our blocks and defences. And then we can start to make choices about how we react and experiment with new ways of being.

I can help you to reconnect with yourself, work out what the triggers really are that are causing your anxiety, get to the root of your sadness and depression and help you to gain a better sense of self, leading to a happier, more fulfilling life.

Alongside my private practice, I work in a secondary school counselling 11 - 18 year olds.

I have extensive experience in the following areas.

Anxiety

Depression

Childhood sexual abuse

Childhood emotional and physical abuse

Domestic violence

Addiction

Self-harm

Suicidal ideation

I also have experience working with addiction both one to one and in a group setting.

CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

CPCAB Diploma in Counselling Children & Young People

Advanced Certificate in the application of Polyvagal Theory in Counselling & Psychotherapy

Practice description

As a humanistic counsellor I am always client led, I offer different ways for you to access counselling, face to face, telephone or online. I can also offer walking and talking therapy.

Walking and talking during your therapy session, rather than being enclosed in a therapy room can feel less intense for some clients. Walking next to each other, in nature, can feel less formal and can allow deeper exploration of feelings. There is also the added benefit of being outdoors in nature, from increased wellbeing, lowered anxiety, depression and stress levels, to reduce anger and increase confidence and boost self-esteem.
