About me and my therapy practice

I work with adults and young people who feel they are struggling with a loss.

Such a loss may have negatively affected your ability to manage your life and impacted on other relationships. You maybe feeling anxious, lonely, powerless, or trapped.

You may not know what you want but have reached a crossroads in your life, unsure of a way forward. You may feel that life events have spiralled out of control, leaving you feeling overwhelmed.

My work includes not only offering bereavement support to those who are grieving the death of a loved one, but also those who may have suffered or who are suffering a living loss. This includes those caring for a family member who have a critical illness or those suffering a relationship breakup or sudden loss of mobility due to illness.

I also work with those who are suffering or have suffered domestic abuse, relationship difficulties, redundancy, women's issues and work-related stress.

Whatever your experience I offer a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space, to listen to you and explore, at a pace that feels comfortable for you, what has brought you to where you are now in your life.

Practice description

I am an Integrative trained therapist. What this means is that I will adopt different theoretical approaches which are appropriate to you and your situation. I work in a way which is tailored to your unique individual needs so that it is always you who is at the centre of our work together.

Together we can explore how your past experiences may have shaped your behaviour, thought process and choices. Increasing our self-awareness and understanding our patterns of behaviour can create an opportunity to rebuild, empower and give positive new meaning to our lives.

I offer in-person and online counselling. In-person counselling takes place in easily accessible therapy rooms in Northwood. Online sessions are on Zoom.

My first session

Please do get in touch. I offer a free 20 minute chat at a time that suits you either online or by phone. It is important that you choose a counsellor that you feel comfortable with and ask any questions or queries you may have. Possibly this is your first experience of counselling and that might feel daunting. I am happy to chat in an open and honest way so you can decide how you would like to move forward.

After our initial chat should you choose to arrange a first session, this is a no obligation session. It is for 1 hour and can be in-person or online. Any further sessions arranged are for 50 minutes.
