About me and my therapy practice
Do you feel like you're treading water like you might be pulled under? Are you struggling to cope with feelings of uncertainty or loss? Maybe you are feeling isolated and aren’t sure which way to turn. Whatever you are struggling with, therapy can feel like a lifeline to help you navigate and better understand the challenges happening in your life.
I offer a confidential, therapeutic space where we can work together to identify and explore the aspects of your life that are concerning you. I will help you to gain clearer insight and feel better able to cope with the issues and decisions you are faced with.
As well as my private practice, I have experience providing therapy in a variety of different settings including hospice care, community centers and youth charities.
A particular area of interest for me is Neurodiversity. I work with neurodivergent people who may be autistic or have ADHD, whether you are diagnosed, still discovering or are a family member. Neurodivergence increases the likelihood of social and emotional challenges, including higher anxiety. My practice is Autism Dialogue Approach (ADA) informed, meaning I offer an affirming space to explore what neurodiversity means for you, promoting self-acceptance and raised awareness.
Supporting people who are going through fertility issues. It is vital to have a real understanding of the distress and challenges caused to those who find themselves struggling to have a baby. As an infertility counsellor, as well as a bereavement therapist, I will be alongside you as you explore your hopes and fears, helping you to navigate the uncertainty, grief and complex feelings throughout your fertility journey. Infertility counselling is also a space to understand and reflect on potential alternative ways to start your family.
I also work with people struggling with anxiety and depression and appreciate the impact this can have on their personal and professional lives and relationships.
Practice description
As an integrative relational therapist I believe the relationship is the most important aspect of therapy as I believe people can only heal and grow through connection and understanding. I combine different therapeutic approaches to ensure we work effectively together while considering your personal circumstances.
I offer in-person sessions in the Canterbury area as well as remote (Zoom/telephone) sessions to accommodate those who may need more flexibility. I also provide outdoor/walk and talk therapy.
I provide both short-term and longer open-ended work, working with adults, older adults, and young people (16 and over).
I do offer some concessions; please request further information when you enquire.
Reaching out is the first step, together we can work towards the changes that you want to make.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute consultation session via telephone or Zoom where we can introduce ourselves. I can explain how I work and answer any questions you may have. This enables us to see if we are a 'good fit' for one another as I believe the relationship is the most important aspect of therapy.
