What working with me is like
Our first session is a conversation about what has brought you here and what you'd like to be different. You don't need to prepare anything or know where to start. Some people come for a few sessions to work through something specific; others stay longer to explore patterns that run deeper. There's no set length, and we'll review together how things are going.
I work online (with or without video, whichever is more comfortable) and by telephone, so you can talk from wherever you feel safest.
Fees and availability
£70 per 50-minute session. Daytime appointments available, with spaces available now.
Getting in touch
I'm a registered member of the BACP and work within its Ethical Framework. Reaching out is often the hardest step, so I keep it small: get in touch and we'll arrange a short 10-minute call to talk through what you're looking for and whether working together feels right. No pressure, no commitment.
About me and my therapy practice
You don't have to keep carrying this on your own.
Maybe anxiety has become the background noise to everything. Maybe stress has built up until you're exhausted and can't switch off. Maybe you feel low and flat, or something from the past still shapes how you feel today. Whatever has brought you here, counselling gives you a confidential space to say what you can't say anywhere else, and to be properly heard.
I've been a qualified counsellor for over 30 years. My core training is psychodynamic, so we won't just manage symptoms; we can look at where the patterns come from, so that what shifts in our work stays shifted. I have also trained in a range of other approaches and draw on whichever will help you most, at a pace that fits you.
I work with adults on:
• Anxiety, panic and constant worry
• Stress and burnout, at work or at home
• Depression and low mood
• Confidence and self-esteem: the inner critic, feeling not good enough, struggling to set boundaries
• Trauma and PTSD: past experiences that intrude on the present
• Support through life changes: bereavement, separation, career shifts, growing older
Sessions are available online and in person - walking and talking in Surrey - if you prefer.
As a registered member of the BACP I work within its Ethical Framework. Your safety, confidentiality and wellbeing sit at the centre of everything we do.
Reaching out is often the hardest part, and you've already done it by reading this far. Get in touch and we'll arrange a short, no-obligation introductory call where you can ask anything and get a feel for whether working together is right for you.
Practice description
I take time to understand how things really are for you, not just what's happening now, but the experiences and circumstances that have shaped it. Together we'll look at the patterns you've been living inside, some of which may never have been noticed before, and make sense of them. Whether the roots lie long ago or in something recent, I believe there is always a way towards understanding, recovery and a steadier sense of wellbeing.
My first session
What working together looks like.....
Our first session is a chance to talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you hope will be different. There's no need to have it all figured out; we'll work that out together. From there, we usually meet regularly for 50 minutes, although we can agree on what suits you.
Some people come for a few sessions to work through something specific; others stay longer to explore deeper or longer standing patterns. Both are welcome. We'll review how things are going as we go, and you're always free to raise anything about the work itself.
