About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative accredited counsellor with many years’ experience, offering a warm, compassionate, and confidential space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted. My work is grounded in psychodynamic therapy, which means we may explore how past experiences, relationships, and life events can shape the way we see ourselves, relate to others, and respond to the world around us.

As an integrative therapist, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to ensure our work is tailored to your individual needs. I believe that each person’s journey is unique, and I work collaboratively with you at a pace that feels safe and manageable. My approach is trauma-informed, with particular experience in supporting people affected by complex trauma and the lasting impact this can have on emotions, relationships, self-worth, and everyday life.

I see the therapeutic relationship as central to the counselling process. Creating a trusting, respectful, and non-judgemental space allows us to explore difficult experiences with compassion and understanding. My aim is to support you in developing greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a deeper understanding of yourself, helping you to move towards meaningful and lasting change.

Practice description

My practice provides a safe, confidential, and supportive space where you can take time to focus on yourself and explore the challenges you may be facing. I understand that beginning counselling can feel daunting, so I aim to make the process feel as welcoming and comfortable as possible from our first contact.

I offer online counselling sessions, providing flexibility and accessibility while allowing you to access support from a place where you feel comfortable and secure. Sessions are tailored to you, giving you the time and space to explore your experiences, thoughts, and feelings at your own pace.

I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, and the effects of difficult or traumatic experiences. I have particular experience supporting clients who have experienced complex trauma and understand the importance of working in a way that prioritises safety, trust, and compassion.

My hope is that our work together provides a space where you feel truly listened to and valued. Through developing a trusting therapeutic relationship, we can explore what has brought you to counselling and work towards greater understanding, healing, and positive change.

My first session

I offer a free 30-minute initial consultation to provide an opportunity for us to meet, talk through what has brought you to counselling, and answer any questions you may have before deciding whether we would like to work together.

I understand that choosing a counsellor is an important decision, and I believe that feeling comfortable, safe, and understood is essential from the beginning. The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of the work we do, and it is important that you feel the counsellor you choose is the right fit for you.

During the consultation, we can discuss what you are looking for from therapy, how I work, and any practical questions you may have about the counselling process. It is also a chance for you to get a sense of whether you feel comfortable and supported with me.

If we decide to continue working together, our first full session will allow us to begin exploring your experiences in more depth, identify what you would like support with, and start building a trusting therapeutic relationship. We will work at a pace that feels safe and appropriate for you, with compassion, respect, and understanding. I believe that counselling should be accessible and that finances should not always be a barrier to seeking support. I offer concessionary rates for those who may be experiencing financial hardship, and I welcome an open conversation about how we may be able to make therapy more accessible.
