About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have extensive specialised training in various therapeutic styles including talking, psychodynamic, CBT and existential therapy. I am licensed to work with young people (15+) and adults. I am based in Richmond and offer face-to-face, online and phone therapy sessions.

There are many reasons why people may seek therapy. All of us, at some point in our lives, experience challenges that could lead to anxiety, depression or feeling stuck. These emotions may stem from feeling overwhelmed by what’s happening in your life. Maybe you are struggling with your relationship, family, or career. Or you could be entering a period of transition or having an identity crisis. Perhaps you need support with a bereavement or illness. Perhaps you cannot even name what the issue is but just do not feel happy or satisfied in your life. Whatever you are going through, whatever you are feeling, you are not alone. Together, we will explore what's going on in your world and the challenges you are facing. Talking with me can help you to understand the events in your life. I can help identify the root of your problem that’s stopping you from enjoying your life fully. By exploring the different options you have we could develop practical steps to decrease your anxiety and build resilience. The insight and self-awareness will hopefully enable you to develop fresh perspectives, resolve difficult situations and make positive steps toward building confidence, self-belief and a greater sense of well-being.

Practice description

My treatment is based on a holistic approach which incorporates aspects of the major therapeutic styles and is tailored to meet your personal needs. My areas of focus include attachment and developmental trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, aggression, bereavement and loss, relationship conflicts, identity and sexuality, and low self-esteem.

My approach is based on developing a trusting therapeutic relationship with each client. I believe feeling listened to, validated and understood are essential ingredients for change. I prioritise a collaborative and interactive approach to help you to understand the contributing factors to destructive patterns, identify your strengths, and develop the skills and strategies necessary for improvement to reach your version of success.

My face-to-face sessions are conducted in two ways:

You can choose to come to a therapy room in Richmond or Kingston. Rooms provide a professional, confidential and comfortable environment.

If the weather permits you can also enjoy the outdoors where we could do walk-and-talk therapy in open spaces such as Kew Gardens or Richmond Park. Walk-and-talk therapy can be especially helpful if you don’t normally have the opportunity to get out into nature regularly or if you feel being in nature might enhance your mood more than indoors. Any costs such as entry to the venue are met by me without any extra charge to you.

I am always happy to answer other questions you may have about my work, so please feel free to contact me via email or phone.

My first session

During the initial consultation, you can share what brings you to therapy, and what you would like from therapy and ask me any questions you may have. We can discuss how we might work together and how I can best support you. If you are happy to continue, we will set up a second session, and we'll arrange to see each other weekly at a time suitable for us both.

The ongoing therapy sessions are guided by your needs and wishes, although I will provide a focus if you would like me to. We can work with specific goals, or in a more open-ended way. The number of sessions we have is also guided by you.

I know that taking the first steps to start therapy can be difficult. If you are ready to take that step, I am here for you. I can offer you support, empathy and an environment free of judgement to help you adapt, change and grow.

If you would like to get a sense of how we may work together please contact me via email or mobile to schedule a free 15 minutes consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.
