About me and my therapy practice

I am a relational psychotherapist who works collaboratively with you, to facilitate new awareness and insight in order for growth and change. I do not sit in silence nodding and giving "mmm-hmmm" responses.

The space is confidential and non-judgemental. I would never tell a you what to do.

By training I am an Integrative Psychotherapist:

This means throughout my years of training, I studied multiple modalities of therapy such as Psychodynamic, Existential, Person Centred, CBT and Gestalt.

Having studied a range of modalities in depth, I have a core approach to my work.  However, being Integrative means I mould my core approach to your needs, working collaboratively with you through checking in and asking for feedback.

You might be struggling to control your emotions. To build and maintain relationships with others. You might not even understand who you are as a person. These are areas of your life that I can help you explore and better understand.

Through gaining a better sense of self and awareness of self, I hope to facilitate a space where you feel you can bee 100% authentic and true to your thoughts and feelings.  Often we can go through life feeling conflicted, having our knee jerk feelings, being told or made to feel that these are wrong, which leaves us conflicted and confused.  Mr role is to help facilitate you to attune to these authentic thoughts and feelings and your true lived experience.

My approach is to allow for phenomenological exploration of how you truly experience life and the emotional and internal/bodily responses you have. By understanding who you are based on past and present life events, why you might experience the anxiety you do for example, I hope to allow for a greater understanding of self so you can make positive changes in line with who you are as a person. To unpick any internal conflicts you might have so to reduce any uncertainty you may unknowingly hold. I hope to bring the unconscious into the conscious.

Practice description

I was situated within the NHS for three years offering yearlong Psychodynamic Psychotherapy to personality disorder patients.  This was a secondary care NHS community service where I saw patients face to face, weekly, for a year.

Currently, I work across two prisons, one being an A and the other a B security category.  Here I treat a large range of mental health symptoms from anxiety, stress, suicidal ideation, anger to childhood trauma etc.

Private Practice - in 2023 I decided to start my own private practice.  I have a consistent case load of clients who range in age and gender.

I have worked with a range of clients over the years spanning across age and gender.
