About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and techniques that are most appropriate for you as the client and the needs and issues that you bring.

The key to successful outcomes in counselling is the quality of the relationship between the counsellor and the client so I offer a  warm, empathic, non-judgemental and authentic approach in my interactions with you.

If appropriate, we may also explore your early life experiences and relationships to better understand your current way of being.

I work online using Zoom as I feel this gives you as the client greater flexibility to access counselling and it allows you to be in a setting where you feel most comfortable.

Practice description

At some points in our lives we all need extra support and this is nothing to feel ashamed of.  In fact, asking for help is one of the bravest things you can do.

Maybe you are dealing with a loss or major change in your life; perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed by trauma from your past or by a current relationship; you could be experiencing family difficulties and / or realising your values are different from the ones you grew up with or maybe you are dealing with a new diagnosis of cancer or Autism?

I offer a warm, empathic and non-judgmental approach in our journey together. This will enable you to explore the sometimes painful feelings, past experiences and stuck patterns of behaviour that may be holding you back.

I have particular experience of working with bereavement, early life trauma, attachment difficulties, problematic family relationships and living with cancer. As a trained Educational Psychologist, I also have a sound understanding of additional needs such as Autism and ADHD and how processing a new diagnosis can take time and requires space to reflect.

I am aware of how difficult it can be to take the first step in asking for help. I am passionate about helping others better understand themselves to bring about greater self-acceptance and change.

I believe that change can lead you to a more fulfilling life and can help you to live with greater authenticity - being unashamedly your true self.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute initial phone consultation. This allows you to share why you are seeking support and to ask any questions.

Following this, we may set up an initial 50-minute assessment session, which will be charged, and from there we can decide whether we continue to work together.

I offer a concessionary rate to students and those on low incomes.
