About me and my therapy practice
We all get stuck in doing things or seeing things a certain way, whether that’s relationships, particular life circumstances or how we see ourselves. We all benefit from someone alongside us to help unpick and make sense of things. Understanding can help us come to a place of compassion. Compassion for ourselves is often key in letting go of ways of being that no longer serve us.
Being alongside you I can support with:
⁃Anxiety, worry, a busy mind
⁃Depression, feeling low or lonely
⁃Self confidence, finding your self worth, discovering what’s blocking you feeling empowered
⁃Loss, transitions and bereavement
⁃Burn-out, over-work or stress
⁃Dealing with emotions you’re not sure how to manage or unsustainable coping strategies
⁃Relationship with yourself and others, family/romantic dynamics
I am here to offer deep, compassionate listening. To help you identify the threads that are running through your experience and pull out what feels significant for you so we can examine it together. I am here to help hold all the contradictions you may feel, bringing empathy and exploration. Understanding how our brain and nervous system work can feel empowering; enabling us to learn about our own responses in the face of conflict, sadness, anger and fear. I can support you to track what your nervous system is doing, giving you more control over your inner landscape. By using parts work we can look at inner contradictions, we can learn to include all your Parts and find a way to more acceptance and fulfilment. I like to work systemically, acknowledging that you are not separate from the rest of the world and the pressures of life. We can feel overwhelmed and burnt out by the huge variety of things on our to do list or what we feel we should be achieving. Let’s unpick this together and find a way toward a way of being that feels more spacious and meaningful to you. I am a trauma informed practitioner and I will hold you gently and safely, offering signposting if necessary.
Practice description
I began studying counselling in 2020. I qualified with a BA Hons in Integrative counselling from Worcester University. I have worked with young people, parents and families in schools, therapeutic settings, and in nature. I have worked with individuals of different ages and genders in my private practice.
I work with 16yrs+ and can offer elements of mentoring alongside counselling. I am also passionate about helping parents with struggles around parenting and family dynamics. I have worked with many families over the years in group capacity and have worked with children with behavioural challenges and neurodiversity. I am interested in working with conflict and relationships and have had mediation training. I have found understanding attachment and the role of early life experiences extremely useful personally and professionally when working on relationships. Working with trauma, nervous system and body has supported my clients. Using the language of Parts work and internal dynamics can transform how we handle situations and how we relate to ourselves and our self-esteem.
I have a deep respect for those who choose therapy, even when it feels like an unknown step. As a counsellor and someone who has received counselling I know how life changing it can be. Learning to trust the process, take small steps and see big changes. I want to support you to discover your resilience and self belief. I believe that you feeling safe and relaxed with me is a good beginning to build trust and to make breakthroughs.
I have 2 spaces at £30 per session available. Please be in contact with me for a free 15 minute initial chat to see whether we want to work together. No pressure, just a hello and we can take it from there. I am currently only offering online video sessions, phone sessions and text/written sessions. My availability is Mondays between 9am-6pm.
My first session
I suggest an initial, free, 15 minute call to see whether we want to work together. In your first session we will dive more into what has brought you to therapy. We can discuss the length of therapy and what your intuition is about what you find helpful. Sometimes simply sitting and chatting can bring clarity and there’s no pressure to have any answers. It will be an explorative space to begin to untangle things. I will always leave time at the end to have a mindful moment, so you end the session feeling as grounded as possible. I look forward to meeting you.
