Availability

If you would like to book an appointment with me, the first step is to email me.  If you can let me know when you are available for counselling, I can check to see if I have availability at a time that works for you.

We would first have an initial counselling session to explore why you would like to come to counselling, and to see if you like the way that I work. Finding the right counsellor and someone who you feel comfortable with is so important.

After our initial counselling session, if you decide that you would like to go ahead with further sessions, we will then agree to meet each other every week at the same time, for as long as you feel that you would like to or need to.

I work from my private practice in Crowborough from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.  I also have some later appointments from 6pm to 8pm and some limited availability on Saturday.

If you would like to book an initial session with me, please email me with your availability, and I will get back to you and let you know if I can offer you a session at a time that works for you.

Due to the nature of the work, I am not always able to answer calls and therefore, it is probably easier to email me or leave me a voicemail.  I will get back to you as soon as I can. I aim to respond to all enquiries within 12 hours.

I look forward to hearing from you.

About me and my therapy practice

I understand how hard it can be trying to decide which counsellor is right for you, who you can trust and confide in, without fear of being judged and most importantly feel comfortable enough to be completely open with.

I believe that we are all drawn to different counsellors and that there is a counsellor out there for everyone.  It is important to find someone who you can relate to, who really listens and works hard to understand how you are feeling and helps you to gain clarity on why you might be feeling the way that you do.

Establishing and building trust is very important for the counselling relationship to develop and I work in a very gentle way to help my clients to gradually feel that they can open up, be honest and safe enough to feel vulnerable with me.  I hope that my clients feel that they can talk to me about anything that is on their mind, without fear of judgement.

I understand that counselling can feel like a scary idea and process for some people. I have created a space where my clients can feel comfortable and as relaxed as as possible.  I am a gentle person, highly sensitive and very intuitive to how you might be feeling.  I work at a pace and depth that feels right for you.

I work in a collaborative way, and as an integrative counsellor, I adapt the style of my counselling to suit each clients' specific needs.

I incorporate a variety of counselling techniques including; person centred (focusing on the here and now), CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy, useful tools that can help to change behaviour), TA (looking at how we relate to each other) and psychodynamic (looking at how the past can create patterns of behaviour which impact on the here and now).

Practice description

The number of sessions that you may want and need can range from a single session therapy session (normally for a specific problem), to short term therapy (8 sessions) to long term work (16 plus sessions and ongoing).

I work face to face (and online) from my beautiful room in Crowborough which is in a very peaceful and private location. The space is very tranquil and has beautiful countryside views which immediately helps to create a calming therapeutic experience.  Clients immediately relax and feel more at peace as soon as they walk through the doors and sit down.  There is also plenty of free parking available.

I also work for a Counselling Agency in Croydon which includes supporting NHS IAPTS clients.

For those who are not able to get to Crowborough, I have extensive experience of working online and am very happy to offer online sessions.

My first session

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other, to help you get a sense of how I work and for us to decide if I am the right therapist for you.

It is an opportunity for us to talk in more detail about what has brought you to counselling, to answer any questions that you may have and to talk through the practicalities of how we will work together.
