About me and my therapy practice

There are times in life when we feel distressed, overwhelmed, anxious, stuck or unhappy and in need of greater support. While we can't change what has happened to us, understanding our responses to these experiences and events can help us deepen our self-awareness and explore what we need, how we can adapt and move forward.

As a humanistic counsellor, I will work closely with you to establish a warm, trusted and supportive relationship where you can feel safe and held, to express your innermost feelings, thoughts and vulnerabilities. We will work through your issues at your pace, with you as the expert on you/your experiences, facilitated by my expertise in therapeutic counselling and psychotherapy.

I draw on a range of therapeutic tools and approaches, specifically tailored to meet your unique needs and therapy aims. I am qualified as an integrative counsellor in three core modalities - person-centered, gestalt and transactional analysis. I combine these with my neuro-linguistic programming training to offer a unique blend of personalised therapy.

Practice description

I work face-to-face in Ealing and also offer an on-line service. Sessions are weekly, long or short-term.

I have experience in a diverse range of issues gained whilst practising in community counselling services at Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy Service (MCPS) in Ealing, and Headstrong Counselling in West London, before setting up my private practice. I have particular expertise in dealing with anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, developmental trauma, low self esteem.

I hold a BSc and Diploma in Humanistic Counselling gained at Metanoia Institute/Middlesex University. I am a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linquistic Programming (NLP) and have a certification in Generative Coaching.

Before becoming a counsellor I enjoyed a career in international qualitative research for over 25 years, indulging my passion in people and their motivations.

My first session

The therapeutic relationship/connection between a therapist and client is central to the success of the process, so I offer a free 30 minute introductory session on line for us to explore this and help you gain a sense of what it might be like to work with me. In this session we will explore your challenges, motivations for seeking therapy, along with your expectations and what you hope to get out of it, as well as some of your personal history and family background.
