About me and my therapy practice
I am a relational developmental psychotherapist working with adult individuals and couples. I provide a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can explore any difficulties you may be experiencing. This may be in your relationships, in your work environment, coping with a significant life-event, or dealing with past trauma impacting you in the present and feeling uncertain of how to move forward.
My humanistic approach acknowledges your individual experience and circumstances, with focus on establishing a meaningful therapeutic relationship and safe environment for you to identify your needs and how best to fulfil them.
How therapy can help
You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, changes in behaviour, unfamiliar feelings, sensations and difficult emotions, in turn impacting your daily life and relationships. I take a holistic integrative approach, addressing all aspects of the self by drawing on enhanced training and complimentary theoretical models to offer tailored therapy for each client.
Childhood relational and developmental trauma can have a significant impact on the way we relate to ourselves, others and how we approach life's difficulties in the here-and-now. Working collaboratively, I provide support as you explore your past and current experiences, offering an empathic, compassionate and genuine relational experience to help facilitate greater self-awareness, change, healing and growth. This enriched relational environment provides the space and opportunities for you to learn about yourself, identify your needs, to try new ways of being and embrace your true self.
Couples therapy
As a humanistic and integrative therapist, I am dedicated to helping you navigate challenges within your relationship. I focus on the impact of any differences/issues and how to address them together. With a warm, empathic approach, I provide a safe space to identify and explore difficulties, working towards resolution and achieving your aims and goals.

Experience and specialisms
I have experience working with diverse client presentations and areas of difficulty which may be impacting your life. These include relationship difficulties, trauma, addiction, self-harm, PTSD, abuse, depression, anxiety, ill health, personality disorders and low self-esteem. In addition, I have a particular interest and experience in bereavement work.
Death, grief and loss are part of everyday life, and can bring feelings of overwhelming sadness, guilt, regret, questioning our own existence and how we can possibly move forward while leaving our loved one behind. Many people find death and grief difficult to talk about, resulting in a sense of isolation at a time when we already feel lost. We may hear and feel societal messages of how grief should look, that we should be feeling better, be 'over it' and moving on, that we are not grieving 'the right way'. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, it is a fluid, unique experience. I specialise in this area, including working with complicated grief and traumatic bereavement, including death by suicide. I offer a space where you can freely talk about your loved one(s) as you need to, in your own time. This will allow you to process your feelings and integrate your grief, maintaining a continuing bond as you navigate your new world landscape.
I also work with clients with, or impacted by, life-limiting illness. The emotions experienced with the knowledge of approaching death can be difficult to talk about. I provide a safe space to reflect, explore your wishes, your beliefs and to help you make peace with the process of dying. Such reflection can in turn help you to deeper connections with your loved ones.
My first session
What to expect
For individuals I offer a free, initial 30-minute telephone or online consultation. This provides an opportunity for you to discuss what brings you to therapy at this time, what you would like to achieve, ask any questions you may have and see if I am the right "fit" for you.
If you decide to proceed, I offer regular, weekly sessions lasting 50 minutes (£50). The first session will include an assessment of your needs, your expectations of therapy, your aims and goals and agreeing the counselling contract. Sessions can be in person or online platform depending on your preference.
For couples all sessions are held in person. The first session will provide an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for me to assess your needs as a couple. We will discuss what brings you to therapy at this time, your expectations of therapy and what you would both like to achieve. If you decide to proceed we will go over the counselling contract and clarify any questions you may have. Sessions are on a regular, fortnightly basis lasting 75 minutes (£75).
I offer short or long-term therapy, with regular reviews to ensure a collaborative experience.

Availability
I currently have space for trainee or qualified supervisees as individuals or groups (max. of four per group). I offer supervision on Tuesdays during the day/evening, but am happy to discuss alternative days/times to suit your needs.
About me and my therapy practice
Taking a relational, developmental integrative approach, I offer clinical supervision to trainees and qualified therapists to support their practice.
Practice description
Supervision in counselling and psychotherapy is a fundamental element of ethical therapeutic practice. The purpose is to establish a safe, structured space in which to build a strong, trusting and collaborative working alliance, attending to various needs of the supervisee. These include aspects of theoretical and relational learning, guidance and support in relation to clinical work and any organisational/training requirements including feedback and evaluation, and supporting ongoing professional and self-development.
I work holistically, providing firm grounding to explore and attend to your supervisory needs. My intention is to provide a supportive, consistent, dynamic and appropriately challenging environment in which you feels safe to explore clinical work, facilitating insight, knowledge, understanding, ethical awareness and reflexivity. By providing space to review, reflect and critically examine your practice, my aim is to aid integration of your personal and professional development, new information, application of skills and overall competency, for the client’s benefit.
My supervisory practice is grounded in a relational, developmental integrative approach. I work with trainees and qualified practitioners, either as individuals or in groups (max. of four). Drawing on the Seven-Eyed Model of supervision, I focus on multiple dimensions of clinical work including the context of the work, approaches and interventions, relational dynamics, unconscious processes including working with transference and countertransference, and ethical considerations.
Whether you are a trainee building confidence or a seasoned practitioner refining advanced skills, my aim is to work with you at every stage, to oversee and facilitates personal and professional development, ongoing development of clinical competencies, ensure the welfare of clients and support ethical best practice.
I am able to support humanistic and integrative modalities, and adhere to the BACP ethical framework.
