Hi there, my name is Brett Mollenhauer. I am a BACP Integrative Counsellor, based in Birmingham.
Life can feel overwhelming at times. Whether you're facing emotional struggles, relationship difficulties, or questions around identity and self-worth, you don’t have to go through it alone. My role as a counsellor is to walk alongside you — offering a safe, supportive space to explore what’s going on and find a path forward that feels right for you.
I am a compassionate and dedicated counsellor with over four years of experience supporting individuals facing a wide range of issues, including relationship challenges, stress, anxiety, and depression, LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy and general emotional and mental health concerns.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw from various therapeutic approaches —including Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practices — tailoring each session to suit your individual needs and goals.
I’m particularly experienced in working with LGBTQ+ individuals, providing an inclusive, affirming space to explore identity, shame, and self-acceptance.
My goal is simple: to help you work towards becoming the version of yourself that feels most true and fulfilling — whatever that may look like for you.
Practice description
I provide short, medium, and long-term therapy tailored to your unique needs. You are the expert in your own life, so you determine the pace and duration of our work together.
I also offer single-session therapy for those looking for focused support around a specific concern. These sessions provide an opportunity to explore a particular challenge, develop practical coping strategies, gain clarity, or work through an important decision—all within one focused and purposeful session.
My first session
In our first session together, we'll spend time getting to know each other and talk through what's brought you to counseling. There's no pressure to have everything figured out, this is simply a space for you to share as much or as little as feels comfortable. We'll explore what you're hoping to get from our work together, and I'll explain how I work so you can decide if it feels like the right fit for you.
