About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP‑registered, dual‑qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) with extensive experience in the NHS and counselling agency settings.
In my private practice, Dual Insight Therapies, I offer short‑ and long‑term counselling for adults, with a strong commitment to culturally sensitive and identity‑affirming practice.
I specialise in supporting clients experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, depression, low mood, stress, low self esteem, and life transitions. My approach integrates relational depth with evidence based CBT interventions, allowing us to explore your experiences deeply while also using structured tools to support your wellbeing.
As an integrative therapist, I draw from:
• Person centred therapy to provide a warm, non judgemental space
• Psychodynamic therapy to explore how past experiences shape current patterns
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to offer practical evidence-based strategies for managing unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
Our work may include exploring emotional patterns, understanding how cultural or family expectations shape your present‑day experiences, and developing insight into your identity. I also incorporate evidence‑based CBT techniques such as behavioural activation, cognitive restructuring, anxiety‑management strategies, and gradual exposure techniques for managing panic attacks — all designed to support your wellbeing and equip you with tools for lasting change.
Practice description
I work in a culturally sensitive and identity‑aware manner, recognising that your background, values, and lived experiences shape how you see yourself and move through the world. Whether or not cultural identity feels central to you, I aim to understand you within the context of your life and to offer a space where you feel respected, heard, and understood.
I offer a thoughtful, respectful space where you can explore your experiences, identity, and emotions openly, and move at a pace that feels right for you.
My first session
I offer online and telephone sessions, giving you flexibility to access therapy in a way that feels most comfortable for you.
Before beginning therapy, I provide a free 20‑minute introductory call. This gives us both a little more time to get a sense of whether we feel like a good fit and for you to ask any initial questions about how I work.
If you choose to begin therapy, our first full session will be an assessment session. During this session, we explore the issues you’re bringing, your hopes and expectations for counselling, and any goals you may have. This helps us understand whether working together feels right and how best to shape the sessions to support you.
If we agree to continue, we will then meet weekly for regular therapy sessions. In our early work, we will go through the counselling agreement, discuss confidentiality, and outline what you can expect from our sessions. This creates a clear, steady foundation for our work together.
