About me and my therapy practice

I’m a Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor with over 20 years’ experience supporting people to reconnect with themselves and their relationships. My background spans physiotherapy, personal training, nutrition, and rehabilitation, alongside a BA (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling. This unique blend allows me to combine body, mind, and emotional insight, creating a holistic approach to wellbeing.

I specialise in relationship counselling for individuals and couples, focusing on communication challenges, intimacy issues, emotional disconnection, conflict resolution, and transitions such as separation or blended family dynamics. I also support clients with personal growth, self-understanding, and navigating midlife transitions.

I work online or face-to-face, offering a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where your experiences are heard and your goals are honoured. My integrative approach blends humanistic principles with tools from CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and somatic awareness, helping you understand patterns, emotions, and behaviours that influence your relationships.

Together, we explore how your thoughts, feelings, and experiences shape your connections, guiding you toward deeper understanding, stronger bonds, and more authentic relationships. This isn’t about “fixing” yourself or your partner—it’s about creating awareness, empathy, and meaningful change that lasts.

Practice description

At my practice, I help individuals and couples build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. Whether you’re struggling with communication, intimacy, trust, conflict, or navigating life transitions like separation or blended families, my work focuses on understanding the emotional and behavioural patterns that influence connection.

I take an integrative approach, blending humanistic counselling with CBT, psychodynamic techniques, and somatic awareness. This allows us to explore the mind-body-emotion link, helping you gain insight, resolve underlying issues, and create sustainable change.

Sessions are available online or face-to-face, offering flexibility and a safe, confidential space to explore your experiences. I work collaboratively, helping you identify patterns, improve communication, deepen intimacy, and build resilience—both as an individual and within your relationship.

Clients can expect empathy, practical guidance, and strategies to strengthen connection and understanding, all tailored to your unique journey. Together, we work toward healthier, more satisfying relationships, greater self-awareness, and emotional balance.

My first session

I offer a free 15 minute introductory call to ensure we both feel happy to start the therapeutic process. Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to share what has brought you to therapy. We will explore your goals, discuss your background, and begin to identify the key themes we might work on together. I will also explain my approach to therapy, answer any questions, and discuss practical aspects such as confidentiality and session agreements.

I work Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, and offer both in-person sessions and online appointments for your convenience. To book a session or discuss availability, please contact me directly. I aim to respond promptly and can often schedule initial sessions within a week.

About me and my therapy practice

Perhaps you look like you are coping perfectly well from the outside, but inside things feel very different.

You might be anxious, exhausted or constantly overthinking. Perhaps your confidence has taken a knock, you’re feeling lonely despite having people around you, or you’ve reached a point where you don’t really know what you want anymore.

Maybe ADHD or another aspect of neurodivergence has left you feeling different or misunderstood. Perhaps OCD, anxiety or phobias are taking up more of your life than you’d like. Or maybe you’re trying to make sense of something that has happened in a relationship — an affair, betrayal or loss of trust that has left you questioning yourself and others.

These are the sorts of difficulties I help people with.

I’ll help you explore what’s happening beneath the surface — the beliefs, experiences and patterns that may have shaped how you see yourself and relate to other people.

Perhaps you’ve become a perfectionist. Maybe you learned to please people, keep everyone happy or always be the strong one. Perhaps you’ve become so used to questioning yourself that you no longer know whether to trust your own feelings.

We can slow things down and become curious about those patterns rather than judging them.

Ultimately, I want therapy to help you feel more like yourself.

More confident.

More authentic.

More able to make your own choices.

More able to trust yourself, while accepting that certainty isn’t always possible.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you come to therapy. You don’t even have to know exactly what’s wrong.

Sometimes knowing that something isn’t working anymore is enough of a starting point.

If you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, lonely, overwhelmed or simply ready for something to change, we can start there.

Practice description

I’m an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), with a BA (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling and a BSc in Exercise Health. I also have more than 25 years’ experience working in health, fitness, nutrition and physical wellbeing.

My route into psychotherapy has been both professional and personal. I’ve lived with OCD for over 34 years and have my own experience of neurodivergence, including ADHD and autistic traits. This doesn’t mean I assume your experience is the same as mine, but it does mean I understand some of the exhaustion, frustration and isolation that can come with feeling that your mind works differently.

I don’t see therapy as someone sitting back and simply listening while you talk. I believe good therapy should be warm, human and collaborative, but it should also challenge you when necessary.

My approach draws from person-centred therapy, CBT, ACT, attachment-based approaches, Transactional Analysis and psychodynamic thinking. I won’t bombard you with psychological terminology or make therapy feel like a university lecture. I use these ideas to help make sense of what you’re experiencing in a way that is practical and understandable.
